Good point you raised. Someone who scored a sub 20min ten years ago will most likely never achieve it again, so we should focus from only 2022. Everyone should go out tomorrow and do a 3km and post it here. Will be a starting point at least. Use this app to map out an easy course and use...

I'm also old and slow. This would be for personal motivation/goals. We want to avoid competing and comparing with the young uns. If you walk the 5k in 45min thats a major accomplishment because you've walked 5km.

For now let's keep it super simple and just do 5k and the time. Once everyone is on board we can tweak/expand data as required. Can even do 3k for beginners to latch on to something attainable. PB for 5k - 29 Jan 2022

Would any of you be interested in doing a superbru type thing in opening post. All active runners can post their 5k pb's and @Steamy Tom can list it. In fact any distance can be done. Will help keep this thread active. Everything will depend on Tom of course.

The adrenaline rush of being chased by a marshall will be make me run faster. I need that PB. [emoji14]

Rules are clear but if his pack only had one temp license and they said its fine you can run with it then they assumed he was a runner not qualifying for prize money.

The rule is applied for all marathons but I always see plenty ipods on display. It's more advice that rule. Some conceal them under a buff which doubles up nicely as a sweat band. Go for it.

Lots to consider including the quality of the shoe but one tip I'd recommend is use a cheaper shoe for short runs and a high quality shoe for longer distances. You'll get double the time usage. I've got a 3y old Asics Kayano that still looks and feels new. As it is you'll need 3 or pairs at...

At least you know you fueled well. I think you meant Garmin gave you 3:17 at 32km?

Pants with zipped pockets are rare and this one has 3. The back pocket comfortably fits the phone. Picked up 2. https://www.mrpsport.com/en_za/fleece-trackpants-1257110504

Ideally you'd want to keep it on the road because thats where you develop your gait and stride to do the 10k. Also less boring plus you get plenty fresh air in the lungs. Where you benefit on a treadmill is the incline feature. Hard to find a 1km long hill on the road to do reps. On a mill you...

Yes but for the other knee when I had a similar issue but more severe. This time mildish - thought just rest/odd stretch would fix it so would do weekly tests. If still there id rest it further. Now I realise I'll actually have to do active stretch and strength. Time is running out and getting...
