So that isn't the point. Basically Makate had a contract with Vodacom by way of the manager promising him compensation. That is what the courts chose to upheld that he is entitled to compensation as per the contract. Vodacom argued they didn't have a binding contract and they lost.
Currently even the autopay doesn't always work now with custom fees. But if you get onto the whatsapp support you can ask them to send you a payment link. They sent one within 15 minutes and payment was made.
It is older, its pretty good but it has been surpassed now by the Meta Quest 3. I would HIGHLY recommend saving a bit more for the 3. I have tried both and the Meta Quest 3 is a lot better...
I would suggest to contact telkom for this issue. But for long term support I highly suggest cancelling telkom and finding an ISP who can support you properly in future.
