Jon Venables, the killer of two-year-old James Bulger, is set to begin a new life abroad in Canada in just days says inside source, as it will be cheaper for UK taxpayers than to give him a new life here.

The news comes weeks after officials were said to have hatched the plan to move the child killer abroad having grown tired of constantly creating new identities for him.

Venables, now aged 36, was granted lifelong anonymity after he was found guilty of murder aged 10.

He has been given numerous different identities since his conviction in 1993 but is continuously outed by outraged members of the public

Why would Canada accept him? Venables is a problem.

Venables, on the other hand, has been jailed twice more after admitting to owning more than 1,000 'sickening' child porn images as well as a paedophile manual.

He served his time. I don't get why this is a issue.

How? It happened when he was 10 who knows why. Did he show any violent behaviour in the last 5 years?

so the fact that he has subsequently been convicted of possessing child porn means nothing? And it is the current sentence of possession of porn and a paedophile 'manual' that he is being released from, not the original murder.

Didn't know that wasn't in the quoted bit.

Then there's a lot wrong with the justice system for letting him out and giving him new identies when obviously he should remain locked up.
 
Venables, who has lifelong anonymity, was released on licence in 2001 after serving eight years for murdering James.

In 2010, Venables pleaded guilty to charges of downloading and distributing child pornography and was jailed for two years, although he was not released until 2013.

That was not the only time he had breached the terms of his licence.

In September 2008, he was arrested on suspicion of affray after a drunken brawl and was given a formal warning by the Probation Service.

Later the same year, he was cautioned for possession of cocaine after he was found with a small amount of the class A drug.


Appearing in court via video-link from custody, he pleaded guilty to making 392 category A images, 148 category B images and 630 category C images.

He also admitted having the paedophile manual on or before November 17 last year.

Prosecutor Louis Mably QC said that, when Venables' computer was seized, police found images of children mainly aged between six and 13, although some were younger.

Mr Mably said the manual was "a disgusting and sickening document which falls far below any recognisable standard of morality".

He said Venables had software on his computer to browse the dark web.

As he was being taken to a police station, Venables said: "This is my own fault. I have let people down again.

"I have had stupid urges, inquisitive. I'm not going to be seeing this for a lot of years.

"It's not going to be a slap on the wrist for me."

The court heard that a report had found that Venables was a "high risk of real harm to children".

Reading how him and his co-accused tortured this little boy to death, he deserves a life time of living in fear of being murdered. According to the law he's served his time, but by any sane person's standards - he doesn't deserve any form of happiness... ever.

Torture details:
One of the boys threw blue Humbrol modelling paint, which they had shoplifted earlier, into Bulger's left eye.[21] They kicked him, stamped on him and threw bricks and stones at him. Batteries were placed in Bulger's mouth and,[22] according to police, some batteries may have been inserted into his anus, although none were found.[3] Finally, the boys dropped a 10-kilogram (22 lb) iron bar, described in court as a railway fishplate, on Bulger.[23][24][25] He sustained 10 skull fractures as a result of the bar striking his head. Alan Williams, the case's pathologist, stated that Bulger suffered so many injuries—42 in total—that none could be isolated as the fatal blow.[26] Thompson and Venables laid Bulger across the railway tracks and weighted his head down with rubble, in the hope that a train would hit him and make his death appear to be an accident. After they left the scene, his body was cut in half by a train.[27] Bulger's severed body was discovered two days later on 14 February.[8] A forensic pathologist testified that he had died before he was struck by the train.[27]
