Attraction for women in a way makes sense and in another does not make sense.

There are exceptions but at the end of the day, they are biologically programmed to opt for a partner that will pass on the best genetics to their kids. This is why you get women who are willing to have kids with a guy who aleady has several. It is not even related to education because well off women do this and it only seems to be happening in higher numbers nowadays in the developed world with their being less stigma towards being a single mother etc.

A lot of guys don't realize that attraction is not based on how nice you are to them.

At the same time, the saying "nice guys finish last" is not true either because some nice guys have mastered the art of game but on average, cocky guys tend to be more confident and so women will choose them in higher numbers.

Another interesting thing about him is that he only had his first kids (with Mariah Carey) after the age of 30.

There are more guys than we think like him, some may even be around us (some don't even know how many kids they have or their names) but normally they had their first when they were very young.

Nick must have been responsible in his 20s so the past ten odd years were busy for him.

With celebrities, it will be hard for them to keep things like this secret. I'd be surprised if he had more tbh.

There are more guys than we think like Nick and it's actually the average joes in his situation that get away with it. Sometimes the women just don't bother even asking them for maintenance.
