I don't think they get all the benefits.. Since I doubt travelling to Russia for medical treatment is a benefit, more like him pulling a fast one.

He has always used his own funds to travel there, as he himself said, and since the DA has never found something we can guess it is true.

No, if he did the DA would have found out, they made a lot of noise about that and suddenly lost interest, that's probably when they found they were barking up the wrong tree.

Mabuza first came to attention when as MEC he fraudulently inflated the matric results. He was dismissed by Phosa but sneaked back when Phosa was replaced. He was also part of the Premier league which consisted of dodgy ANC Provincial Premiers. Now he has "retired" he will have time to spend answering to the criminal charges laid against him, fraud, intimidation and corruption.

Carte Blanche had a segment where they investigated his connection to illegally "EWC" successful game farms as land claims and organizing "rent a mobs" to intimidate owners, Zimbabwe style.
 
The cat spends so much time in Russia that he could be our ambassador to Russia. It was without a doubt that Paul Mashatile would succeed him at the earliest.
