The head of Epsom College has been found dead along with her husband and seven-year-old daughter in a property on school grounds.
Emma Pattison, 45, her husband George, 39, and their daughter Lettie, seven, were found dead at 01:10 GMT on Sunday.
Surrey Police said they were called to the property by South East Coast Ambulance Service.
Police said they were confident it was an isolated incident "with no third-party involvement".

Can someone tell me why this story gets treated with kid gloves?

Murder, suicide, accident? Why the secrecy? Just pointing out that if this was nobody from nêrensnie people would likely discuss the details. How do some people get this special treatment?

All I'm reading are words like tragedy... Accident then?

Sounds like a family murder/suicide.

The story is only 13 hours old, am sure more details will be released but in my view, this is how all criminal cases should be handled, at least in the first 24 hours.

Looks like a very first world country type of bizarre incident, the husband and wife were arguing about each other both having good high paying jobs and wanted each other to give up theirs
Rumours though

The BBC are like British Rail, we might slow but we're getting there.

In some cases there is a big difference between rumours and facts. For sensitive stories some news organisations prefer to wait for verified sources. Sites like Twitter can issue rapid updates, but it's a lot harder to retract a published news story.

Some updates here:
The head teacher of Epsom College made a distressed call to a relative before she and her daughter were shot dead by her husband, the BBC understands.

George Pattison is believed to have killed Emma Pattison and Lettie, seven, at the family home in school grounds before taking his own life.

Mrs Pattison is understood to have called the relative some time late on Saturday evening.

By the time the family member arrived, all three were dead.
