NMBM fears that day zero has arrived

How do the authorities think they are going to prevent the corrupt from collecting water and selling it as potable water to unsuspecting residents? A brain-dead idea if I have ever heard one.
Probably because most people are going to sell it to swimming pool owners, car washes, etc.

TBH I suspect the borehole water is probably potable, they're just saying it isn't to CYA.

Nelson Mandela Bay council approves water tariff drop to improve city’s finances

Nelson Mandela Bay’s council has approved a proposal to drop water tariffs down a notch to ease the financial burden on residents in the hope this will encourage them to pay their municipal bills.

The municipality has made a U-turn on its decision in 2022 to impose punitive tariffs on water users whose consumption was high.

At present, Part D of the water tariff charges are being implemented on households and businesses who use more than 9kl a month.

But the move has backfired, leading to the municipality’s debtors book increasing to R15.2bn.

The tariffs will now revert to Part C.

LOL, as this is going to reduce consumption. Arrears of >R500K are being owed by individuals/institutions/businesses. Then there are those illegal connections.

CUT THEM OFF!!!!! As you would promptly do if I did not pay my bill in time!

I wonder how viable it would be to load a massive bulk carrier from Durban and deliver it to Gqodfkjb[erha.

If they can ship millions of litres of orange juice in a single bulk carrier, why not water.

Yes, I'm slightly joking, but also not.

Don't you have ecoli or broccoli or something in your water?
