Traces of explosives found at Nord Stream pipelines, confirming 'gross sabotage,' Sweden says

Would've been nice to start a new thread but since this old one is kicking off and since no one has actually linked the fckin Substack article....

Here it is. It goes into a lot of detail.

Hersh's report is already being rubbished by the intelligence communities as per his previous two reports on US conduct. Anyhow, his report is being disseminated by mainstream media with their attached commentary. It is not like it is being brushed under the carpet.

Everything we have here is rumors and conjecture.
Here is a reply to the claims that it was the US and the interesting part his version of P8 timing.

.Norway has five P8s, meanwhile, but none were tracked by @ADSBex in the area on September 26, 2022, and you would expect them to be. A US P8 (hexcode AE6581) was tracked in the area on that date, but it arrived about 90 minutes after the first blast...

Here is a reply to the claims that it was the US.

Weird that someone who claims to be any level of OSINT magically doesn't know that military planes can turn off their ADS-B and that all "public" info is done as a courtesy by civilian planes.

Same reason you can't find half the planes in South Africa on these maps.

The same ones that promised Russia was involved in the 2016 election and Trump.

The same ones that assured us they were all over Twitter.

We now know that was bullsht from the beginning.
All I can say is that my view remains that it wasn't Russia who sabotaged the pipelines. It simply doesn't make sense, not in the situation they are in which they caused themselves.

Here you can see how The Times reported on Hersh's substack article,

Once hailed “the greatest American investigative reporter”, Hersh’s more recent stories have been called into question. These included articles about how the US found Osama bin Laden and calling into question the use of chemical weapons on Syrian civilians by Syria’s regime, which were criticised for relying heavily on anonymous sources and lacking hard evidence.

In his report on Nord Stream, Hersh has quoted an anonymous source “with direct knowledge of the operational planning”. He said that deep-sea divers from the US Navy’s Diving and Salvage Centre in Panama City, Florida, the largest diving facility in the world, planted C4 explosives alongside the pipeline, which were later triggered by a sonar buoy dropped by a plane.

so, basically, his story is dismissible or otherwise tantamount to hearsay, but it is not that the media doesn't use anonymous sources. Anonymous sources mean a great deal to the media and whistle blow protection.

I said it back when this happened, in the case it was the US and others, then they will announce it when the time is right when the greater global public would be more supportive.

The investigations into the sabotage are also controversial with many parties not willing to share their discoveries which raises questions considering that these parties are supposed to be allies and colloborative dealing with a Russian threat.

So do the Russians and they do have more submarines better tasked to this clandestine type of work.

Like Russian ships and aircraft for example the one that docked in South Africa recently.
Which puts us back in the position of....what reason does Russia have to blow up their own pipe which they only stand to lose their hold over Europe, and nothing to gain.
Meanwhile we have the US all but saying that Nordstream is a legitimate target in the past.

I liked the force majeure argument and it seems easy to blame the US if they already threatened it. It seems both sides can win or loose here.

The US has the most to gain from blowing up this pipeline. You always gotta follow the money.

You like it because it gives a 1% chance of explanation never mind that again it makes no sense.

Russia was already cutting the supply and increasing prices which would've outstripped any force majeure fines.

Also lmao at force majeure fines in the first place.

How were the EU going to claim them? Through the assets that they had already illegally seized (currently in court lmao) from Russia...?

Did people forget how much money Russia was making off the pipeline even while cutting costs. The price of gas was skyrocketing when they started limiting in June.

Also did we forget that Russia is still supplying gas to Europe through China and India, which they take a cut of....

Again, damaging Nordstream makes no sense from Russia's point of view.

I would say interesting argument now back that up with a a blast analysis or something that is not rumors or conjecture.

Sweden must be lying when they said there were traces of explosives.

You're in a thread with that very title.

Russia must've somehow put the explosives....inside the pipe.

So let's check up on the investigation so far.

Gee, I wonder why.
