Ramaphosa doubles down on state bank for South Africa

banks should be abolished and allow markets to function, it doesn't really make a difference who owns it
 
Banks operate to make money, and to be able to do this they need to apply strict criteria around who they lend money to and how much.

To imagine a state bank is going to be able to operate profitably by servicing those customers who did not meet the criteria of the commercial banks is lunacy. This is just going to be another stealth tax, middle class tax money going to be used to fund loans to tentrepreneurs who will never pay it back.
 
How many decades have they been talking about a state bank? Implementation is not this government's strong point.
 
you bunch of racist naysayers better pipe down, clearly the solution to load shedding all along has been to declare a state of disaster so our honorable overlords can unilaterally create a state bank to store the metric fahkton of money they gonna steal now
