Ramaphosa and Dlamini-Zuma respond to state of disaster fears

She added that the state of disaster intends to handle issues that cannot be easily addressed with the current legislation. The state of disaster will allow the state to bypass red tape that previously halted progress, according to the minister.

Red tape is restrictive speak. So... what is restricting the state? Ethics, good business practices, courts... hmmmm.

By red tape do they mean the ANC's current interference and sabotage of Eskom?

Would Ramaphosa, as a “businessman”, allow any of the people he has in his cabinet to be involved in the running of one of the businesses he has an interest in?

This is how you bypass red-tape..

Article didn't mention anything about downplaying the main fear, that this is just going to facilitate massive corruption like we saw during the COVID state of disaster. R500 billion basically vanished overnight. That's more than Eskom's total debt just *poof*.

That will be chump change in comparison to what this lot have planned for this round...

Yeah, the fact that they're trying to downplay the fears already means the fears are entirely justified and this lot are planning to steal the country fscking blind in the next few months.
That's exactly what they are planning to do. There is a slight chance they might only have the year left to loot and cause chaos as much as possible.

How many people have been handed orange overalls for the R500bln stolen and looted in the name of "Procurement of PPE"??

The pandemic state of disaster doesn't appear to have been a requirement for looting. They could have just as easily stolen the money in any other year.
