Tourism minister Lindiwe Sisulu said that members of the governing party should hold a lekgotla on Robben Island.

According to Sisulu, this will help them remember the sacrifices made by anti-apartheid activists who devoted their lives to bring about change in South Africa.

“I would like members of the ANC [African National Congress] to find space to come and have a lekgotla here so that they have at the back of their minds what was given to them… that they hold the ANC sacred and safe and going forward and all the values of the people who were here making these sacrifices..."

This is the best idea ever, they can use the prison as the venue.

I did find this statement in the article to be fsck off funny though

The minister visited Robben Island on Monday as part of an initiative to boost visitor numbers to the heritage site.

The fact that Lindiwe visited is going to have sweet fek all bearing on whether I visit Robben Island or not.

Shame man, trying to act like she gives two tosses about their history...
Its only becauses its caught up in the scandal at Totty Hotwings
Keeps their stupid voters happy though I should imagine...

She has sweet fek all idea about their history.

I'm waiting for her to claim just how horrible it was being in Robben Island, and how she and Madiba would share time together.

I haven't been to Robben Island since I was a kid, did an outing there once and that was it. Are there any conference centres on the island or is Sisulu in the view to hold a makietie under some tarp, gazebo or something?
