'Pumping sewage into the sea is normal': Cape Town has no other choice, says government

Can confirm it is worldwide. Some cities in the world are really bad. Especially if you see the constant sewage coming out of the pipes. Darker sewage trails in the already dark water. Always thought that there should be an easier way but I guess it is cost issue as downhill leads to the sea. Remarkable the oceans can handle it without killing all fish.

I see Timeslive quotes a UCT academic who indicates CT may be heading for another water crisis (and that water is too cheap). They may need to hang onto that sewage and clean it up for re-use.

It's time for an Obesity Tax. Fatties are sh*tting way too much and polluting our ocean. Never mind all the extra animals that must die to feed them.

Carbs and sugar make people fat, not meat.

It's food for the sea creatures..

Consuming more calories than your energy expenditure makes you fat. Excess protein from meat is also metabolised to fat (first by gluconeogenesis to glucose, then to fatty acids -> fat by lipogenesis. Fatties in any case aren't eating extra lean meats.

Due to the extra metabolic processes involved to store protein as body fat compared to the other macros, lean meat is less fattening than the equivalent calories from sugar and fat, but you can get fat from any excess calories.

You're out of your depth on this one one. Don't even bother.

Try Ketosis by eating fatty meat, no / low carbs and no sugar. You can eat huge meals and lose weight with no increase in exercise. 20kg loss in 6 months is easily achievable. Done it myself. so I have first hand experience and don't need your theoretical depth. Ask Prof Noakes.

Yes they are amazing for weight loss, but keto diets (and the Noakes diet) are supposed to be moderate protein, not HIGH protein. I've been doing keto on and off since 2008 to make weight for competitive sport.

What happens in ketosis? -> You are in ketosis when your body produces ketones from burning fats. If you eat too much protein on a keto diet your body produces less or even stops producing ketones from fats, because it produces too much glucose from protein catabolism, hindering fat loss or eventually causing fat gain with excess calories.

A lot of the weight loss for fat people who do keto is also due to improvement in their insulin resistance so their body uses calories more efficiently.

A common practice everywhere else in the world.

A fanatical religious ideology in Durban.

Sounds like a ball of liquified poop..

If it’s treated like rand water used to do with the water from the vaal that would not be an issue.
When my mom worked there ( late 80’s early 90’s) they used to put back cleaner water than they were taking out.

This doesn’t just mean running it through a sieve.
