Steve Hofmeyr booted from boat cruise concert: 'I will never climb on one of their ships again'

that's before you factor in the length of time the British influenced decisions right up until ZA became a republic
those same people tend to be quite shocked, or in denial, when you tell them within a mere 4 years the Republic of South Africa would be under ANC rule longer than it was under NP rule
Wait, what?

NP came to power in 1948. Out of power in 1994. 1994- 1948 = 46 years.

ANC won in 1994. 1994 -2023 = 29 years

So no, we will have to wait until 2040 for that to be true.

How do the passengers feel? Surely by now if they were missing him they would have put up a show and cancel their boat ride?

Or maybe they got more tickets sold now.

I am not sure what is worse, being stuck on a ship where someone has the deadly Covid 19 virus or being stuck on a ship with Steve and sy pampoene.

I’m with him about being trapped on a ship, I’m a sympathy puker the idea of being trapped with seasick people is enough to give me the hives.

Being trapped on a ship with only steve.. i could stomach, with a whole afrikaans singing troupe..almost as bad as the pukes

MSC will sell more tickets now. Most people would be uncomfortable listening to his atrocious singing.

Its looking fantastic in 2023..imagine in another 17 years...
Good stuff...

It’s funny how when he was younger he was considered woke, and now he is considered conservative.
I remember how aunties and uncles clutched their pearls at the mention of this guys name.
He likes being ‘canceled’ it just makes him more relevant.

I worked in an ‘afrikaans’ nightclub ( they played afrikaans during the night) there are worse people on that ship if you go by singing.

He was always conservative. His idea of being progressive is voting "yes" in the whites-only referendum to end Apartheid.

Many conservative people voted yes because the realized it was no longer economically sustainable.

   What wasn't economical sustainable ?

Again showing how little you know of our history.

The conservative position at the time was "no" that is literally what conservative means, conserving stuff, keeping it the same.

The liberal position was "yes" as in freedom and voting rights for everyone.

Nobody gives a shít about progressives. They have mental problems and don't know the difference between a man and woman.

Amen brother.

Steve considered conservative in the late 80’s early 90’s? You have no idea what you are talking about.

The ANC. Everyone knew this.

The conservatives knew this
The normal people knew this.
The liberals knew this.

Progressives know nothing so I'm not counting them.

It isin't as simplistic as that. Conservatives are not a monolith.

FW De Klerk was a staunch conservative until his final days but he campaigned for the yes vote and his views was the view of much of the electorate that voted then.

The no vote was campaigned by the CP who were to the NP what the EFF is to the ANC. They were on the far-right of the spectrum.
