This comes after activist Johan Sloet de Villiers alerted Dudok Den Haag of what he calls Hofmeyr’s “racially provocative statements”, The Citizen reported.


“I have just spoken to Sandy at Dudok Den Haag. The planned event of Steve Hofmeyr at their restaurant and studio on June 1 has been cancelled! This follows my initial appeal to them to not be associated with his racially provocative statements. My post on their FB-page was supported by other South Africans. Well done, Dudok and all of those in support!” said De Villiers.

The restaurant apologised for associating with Hofmeyr, saying it wasn’t aware of the controversy surrounding him.

“Up until it was brought into our attention Steve Hofmeyr and the controversy around him was unknown to us. After this we contacted the organisation and different authorities about this matter,” the restaurant said in a statement.

“We as Dudok have always taken a stance against discrimination and racism.”

An attempt by a South African to get a platform in the Netherlands to convince the populace that Afrikaners are being discriminated against or targeted for an alleged genocide has been stopped by a lobby group of South African expats in that country.

The manager of Oudaen Restaurant in Utrecht cancelled a guest appearance by trade union Solidarity’s European ambassador Jaco Kleynhans yesterday.

This was after a protest by the African-European Indaba (AEI), a lobby group founded by expat Johan Sloet de Villiers, who is based in the capital Amsterdam.

Kleynhans, a resident of Orania in the Northern Cape, was scheduled to address the audience at Oudaen about farm killings and land expropriation without compensation, and how the ANC-led government had failed to act to stop the killings.

The meeting was part of an international campaign by several minority groupings to convince foreign countries that Afrikaners are being targeted and that their culture was being undermined.

Anyhow, case solved. There are many other articles on Sloet vs. Others, or so to say, but most publications are unknown to me, so I can't validate its credibility.

It explains this statement by Steve,

“MSC Cruises had to choose between their left-wing activist in Amsterdam and thousands of people – you who had booked a ticket, and people like me who’ve filled their ships for 10 years. They chose the woke snowflake,” Hofmeyr says.

- the original pass laws and the native lands act got passed before the NP existed, before the NP ever was in control and half a f-ing century before we were an independent republic ... take your complaints to King Charles

- apartheid as a word and as a word captured in actual law only existed from 1949, still way before we were a republic though at least at the time the nats were in control more or less ... take your complaints to King Charles as well as the NP, they share blame

- from 1961 onwards you can stop blaming King Charles and solely blame the nats

- from 2027 the ANC would be ruining the Republic of South Africa longer than the nats, seems only fair to blame the ANC for literally EVERYTHING wrong with the country at that point if for some godforsaken reason you don't already now

Well, okay but the fact of the matter is that your Grandad (a white conservative who opposed Apartheid) was not the norm at the time. There were outliers here and there but many were either in denial or as often is pointed out on Mybb by those that lived in the time, were victims of the government propaganda and "didn't know what was going on".

The people that pioneered it and supported it through and through were white conservatives. This was also why the opposition to the NP apart from the CP (which was the right wing version of EFF) fared very poorly.

As I said before, conservatives aren't a monolith either so as it became economically unsustainable, a lot of them realized that they had to move into democracy.
 
So this whole story is just cancel culture spured on by a Dutch "activist" type bloke. 411 posts of which the vast majority are just adults having some weird team flex.
