It seems that every municipality wants to penalize individuals for owning solar.
This is what I don't understand. We pay for electricity we can't use, and now have to pay for electricity that we ourselves generate?
How did this even become a thing? The municipality is not going to provide maintenance on the solar system, yet they want money because they can?
I thought South Africa wants to get out of load shedding, but it seems municipalities want to capitalize on load shedding.
So with this in mind, is solar still worth it? For the last week or so, we saw a low flying helicopter surveying our area. It paid particular attention to homes that had solar installed. Why are we seeing all this activity?
