DA shoots own foot, blames ‘malicious’ journalists

On the topic though, I do think the DA got played by the ANC and did shoot themselves in the foot.

Nuance is entirely missed in this country, everyone stopped at the "DA has called for a State of Disaster", and all the nuance and context that followed that is ignored. The DA should know better by now.

Yup in this country people are like Drax

DA is right though. They asked for Lemon & Herb burger at Nandos and clever guy at the counter just remembered Burger part and served them Extra hot burger. They got burger alright.

He's been banned multiple times. Maybe it's time they pay him a visit again. He's had more than 5 accounts in the past 7 or so years.
Pity there's no way to ban on IP. Maybe people IRL are just tired of his crap and see through it, so he comes here to have his say.
I mean FFS he's just making up stuff now isn't he?

It is the same thing, very similar to be upset it about it now
I understand that a state of disaster around an SOE, is not a state of disaster for the country.

I also understand that you do not understand that.

Like the EFF, the DA was created back in the 1990's as a sub-division of the ANC, basically a net catching the english, afrikaans speaking white people's support to ensure the ANC does not lose them.

This is what someone who was aligned to the hardline faction of the National Party or Conservative Party would say.

I though DA was formed through alliance between DP and NP, who later quit the alliance and eventually were absorbed by the ANC. DA retained the name.

The DP did form an alliance with the NP and some other parties to become the DA.

The merger with the ANC was more of a convenient arrangement which allowed Kortbroeks and a few others to get jobs under the ANC (Kortbroeks is still an ambassador today if I recall) but most of the ex NP members remained with the DA as part of the original arrangement.

A few joined the VF+. One or two got jobs with the IFP.

Can we get rid of all political parties - let us vote for presidents directly.

It's not likely anytime soon but politics in SA is currently very hard to predict.

This could be a possibility in the future because currently no party really has the trust of the electorate, At the current rate, the next generation could vote this way.
