Eskom planning for stage 8 load shedding

The power utility said that the review process is underway and is currently sitting with regulators and industry, and it will look at different stages of load shedding and contingencies for stage 8 – however, it stressed that this is not anticipated at this stage.

Just like they have in the past stressed that load shedding will be temporary?

Well it is temporary, until they fix the problems.

More than 12 hours a day without electricity and you already have a total collapse of the grid. Easy as that. The only thing that can happen now is that you will get even less electricity, perhaps only 5-7 hours per day. Anything else government says, Eskom says or any other person says, is only aimed at playing on emotions and calming fears. No country can operate like this and no economy can survive this type of collapse of the electricity grid.

Eskom planning for stage 8 load shedding

They cannot plan a piss-up in a brewery, it is clear that they are now passengers in this as much as we are.

But only until André leaves 31 March, 1 April blackouts will be a thing of the past...

Soon the electric supply schedule will be:

Monday - NW & Gauteng
Tuesday - Natal and EC
Wednesday - NP and Mpumalanga
Etc..
Only on these days will there be a chance of electricity...

In state of the system update on Monday (20 February), the CEO said that Eskom currently has 23,877 MW of generation offline, which is roughly half the total installed capacity.
Jesus H Christ.

Eskom is so poorly run it's not even funny at this point. Corruption and ineptitude at damn near every level.

De Ruyter said that the power utility anticipates returning 3,000 MW to the grid on Monday, and 2,000 MW each on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, which should bring stability to the grid.

This means that stage 6 load shedding is expected to continue until the Wednesday peak at the very least, after which stages will be downgraded to stage 4 and hopefully stage 3 by the weekend.
Is it just me or is someone not adding right here?

They're saying 5800MW shortfall necessitates the need for stage 6. Then says they're getting back:
3000MW on Monday
2000MW on Tuesday
2000MW on Wednesday
2000MW on Thursday

That's 9000MW. That obliterates the 5800MW shortfall... or am I smoking my socks?
