It was me, I agree with this. In CPT they created the "home user charge" to offset losses from solar uptake. In other municipalities they did the same and called it something else. In PE they created a solar levy and then hiked it by 260%. Stop defending the indefensible with your rose tinted glasses.Wasn't there someone else who used to spout this same nonsense. Was that your old account and you got banned?
They have said this before... MyBroadband published an article some time last year (or in 2021) about how energy experts foresee load shedding stages beyond stage 8. The fear mongering needs to stop; we have heard the same tired and through prediction many times. As for load shedding, the odds of stages 7 and 8 being a reality are really slim. The norm will most likely be stages 4, 5 and 6.Can you prove this or are you just lashing out in frustration? Stage 8 will happen this year. Be patient...
But it`s not fear mongering. Stage 8 is very likely to happen this year. They have said this before... I'd love to see them try stealing panels off a 5 story complex roof... with a steep angle and mossy tiles.
We could have been spared loadshedding with the simple application of mandatory checklists as what is required in the aviation industry.Investigations revealed that there was a deviation from the procedure during the process.
Aaah, the good old days...Couldn't have been too many years. It wasn't too long ago the schedules ended at stage 4...

Aviation? Have you seen what they did to SAA?We could have been spared loadshedding with the simple application of mandatory checklists as what is required in the aviation industry.
The reality is that the power stations are old, suffer from sabotage, lack of maintenance and BEE. They are being run way beyond their design capacity. The OCGT were meant to be used in emergencies only yet they are being used to keep the lights on (partly). At an unaffordable cost in diesel. They have said this before... Did we have Boeings falling out of the sky and exploding?Aviation? Have you seen what they did to SAA?
An aging power fleet is not a causation of loadshedding. Fire all the power station managers and put in competent teams en die Kaap is weer Hollands. The reality is that the power stations are old, suffer from sabotage, lack of maintenance and BEE. There is absolutely no plan (or ability) nor funding to rectify that reality.
The natural result of running machinery beyond its design capacity, compounded by lack of maintenance, is eventual total breakdown. The destruction increases exponentially. So whatever levels of loadshedding occurred previously are no indication of what lies ahead. Failing any miracle, it WILL deteriorate. Kusile and Medupi were the solution the sheeple placed their hopes upon. They forgot to figure in the cANCer and African inability. The result: 2 giant scrapheaps in the Bushveld and gazzillions of Rands stolen or wasted.
South Africa is unfortunately already well on its way to the typical African country. We have passed critical mass.
But hey, at least whitey is no longer in charge, there is one man, one vote (one time) and blacks are king of their own dung pile.
Occasional electricity (euphemistically called Stage 8 or whatever) is coming. So is deindustrialisation unfortunately.
No, I am just in agreement with them. I don't really care at this point. Solar is for the birds to poop on and for the wealthy to install. Normal people with home loans, car loans, and a bunch of credit cards to pay can't afford it. We already have to buy food on credit. Remember you are talking about an extra R1k a month for nothing. That is not insignificant unless you are lucky enough to earn millions. But for my household just no. We can't afford it and no amount of debating it will make it more affordable.Wasn't there someone else who used to spout this same nonsense. Was that your old account and you got banned?
If the criminals don't get it, mother nature will.I'd love to see them try stealing panels off a 5 story complex roof... with a steep angle and mossy tiles.
The experts have been shouting since before stage 1 and 2 days. And over the years we reached level 5 and 6.I am sorry but I will need these energy experts to take several seats. They have been "sounding the alarm" for many years about a stage 8, 9 and 10, and to date, we have not seen anything beyond stage 6.
Just remember load shedding is artificial and is controlled by people. Notice every time Eskom seems to stabilize we lose everything again. At some point, they will lose the entire grid and that will take months to come back from. But that is what Eskom wants. Because the people don't get paid if the power stations are working they get paid when the power stations are broken. It is not hard to smell the corruption. Everyone is an expert and everyone wants a hundred million rand contract that they don't have to honor. It is easy money.I am not sure loadshedding that much will actually work. At some point the electricity use in the areas that do have power at a time will spike so much because people will have moved their essential consumption to that slot. All the geysers, washing machines, ovens, battery chargers, fridges etc will power on full blast in the slots people do have power.
Going up further stages will not be linear - things will get out of hand quickly.
It’s what insurance companies do.If the criminals don't get it, mother nature will.
Wonder if insurance will cover this and what that will cost as well. LOL no... Solar is just not the answer.
Yea insurance will only cover so much you will pay out of pocket eventually. Insurance is not in the game to lose money. They WILL get it back from you in some way or form. It’s what insurance companies do.
