Russia made the choice to have the largest nuclear arsenal. Russia made the choice to attack Ukraine. Russia made the choice to present an ultimatum to the US over the existence of NATO in Central Europe.

The free world can't stop Russia by bending over to them. Russia has been accommodated since the USSR fell. Instead of assaulting the country, the free world, let Russia be free and independent. Something the Russians never afforded the people they oppressed. Russia is the problem. Only Russia can decide if a nuclear war will occur. Because no-one will attack them first.
