De Ruyter strikes back – blows the lid on ANC corruption, political interference and worse load shedding this winter

ANC are so accustomed to playing the victim that they've failed to see that they're slowly turning into the monsters.

As another point, him referring to a senior government minister involved in serious corruption...
Sure not a lot of government and governing party officials not involved in corruption, but I think he didn't refer to a minister being involved.

So don't look at share price, look at debt instead. Just like don't look at load shedding, look at debt instead. Got it.

When people want to cherry-pick, they at least should know that Eskom’s debt is a disaster. I don't know whether you still reside or pay tax in this country, but Eskom's debt will be a hot topic at the budget speech.

Yeah he did

“I expressed my concern to a senior government minister about attempts – in my view – to water down governance around the $8.5 billion US dollars that, by and large through Eskom intervention, we got at COP26.

I'm doff, and can't read.

Was just a reference to a senior politican.

These days when I'm sitting at home with no power, I go and open up Eskoms financials and check to see if the debt reduced. If it goes down I feel a bit better about sitting in the dark.

Eskom is in a real bad position. Financial unsustainability will only worsen the 'load shedding' conditions. It is the ordinary people who pay that price.

All I know is, though the state wants Eskom to have engineers in managing the enterprise I can only hope that they know money too.

Not to ignore that the Disaster Management Act may now have opened the door to misappropriation. Time will tell.

I wish this guy would come out and spill the beans on all of it, name and shame.

Having said that... he'll probably be killed, and it won't make a difference....

Precisely, in terms of the things that matter, Andre actually did a decent job at Nampak. He saved the company from going completely *boom* and disappearing.

He may have failed at Eskom in certain respects, but he has succeeded in others.

I am not sure what does or doesn't matter, but what he was tasked with doing at Nampak he did reasonably well from what I can tell, Eskom is whole different kettle of fish though.

From a shareholder point of view, getting debt under control and making sure an entity is able to keep operating should be the thing that matters... which is precisely what he did at Nampak, and I think he was trying to get a similar thing done at Eskom and achieved some things, but obviously failed at the bit that is very obvious to everyone.

I heard that the executive group at Eskom are looking to get Stephen van Coller in to finish the job.

Knowing the state which Eskom is in, do they even have two people to replace de Ruyter and Oberholzer? It will be a circus to see the new ministry shadow these roles.

I would very much doubt they have people to replace those 2 guys in all honesty.

We're in for a monumental shyteshow come the next few months.

Hope people are noting that Andre is warning that ANC is busy squandering the 8.5 billion US dollars in funds meant for renewable energy so it doesn't come as a surprise when it's all gone.

Yep, but share price, did you see the share price? Share price bad = CEO bad

Should have known the thread will be full of the same pissers and moaners yapping about De Ruyter again.

This is all his fault, we should all just accept it now and relax till 1 April when he is gone and load shedding is over.
