South Africa army defends controversial naval drills with Russia

South Africa’s military has defended its decision to host naval exercises jointly staged with Russia and China and coinciding with the anniversary of the Kremlin’s invasion of Ukraine.
Originally slated to start last week, the exercise dubbed Mosi-II kicked off on Wednesday along South Africa’s eastern coast. The exercises have been criticised by the United States and the European Union.
“There is a difference between military and politics,” Lieutenant-General Siphiwe Sangweni, chief of joint operations in the South African National Defence Force, told a news conference in the eastern port town of Richards Bay.
“Yes, there will be other countries who feel differently in how we have approached this, but … all countries are sovereign nations and have a right to handle things [as] they see fit,” he added.
South Africa has refused to condemn the invasion of Ukraine which has largely isolated Moscow on the international stage, saying it prefers dialogue to end the war.

“Yes, there will be other countries who feel differently in how we have approached this, but … all countries are sovereign nations and have a right to handle things [as] they see fit,” he added.

Yet SA supports the Russian invasion of Ukraine?

So Ukraine is going to invade another country in order to replenish their ammunition.

Which means they're running low.

Very interesting.
Which country is being invaded?

With regards to ammunition, I don't think they've hid the fact that they don't have enough.

Any comment from the Russian simps about ammunition shortages?

Russia's ammunition shortage in eastern Ukraine is reportedly so severe that its troops there have reportedly been issued with completely unusable munitions, including shells which are so rusty they have simply disintegrated.

After complaints from Yevgeny Prigozhin about Wagner fighters being denied ammunition, Alexander Khodakovsky of the pro-Russian Vostok Battalion has written that the situation is the same for everyone – indicating an extreme case of 'shell famine'.

Vostok's Khodakovsky reveals that Wagner are now actually simply receiving the same amount of ammunition as everyone else, saying everyone envied Wagner. He also adds that Russians had to preserve ammo for the Vuhledar catastrophe to have enough ammo for at least 1 (!) day!

The VChK-OGPU Telegram channel has posted photos of some of the ammunition that it says Russian regular forces have been issued. This suggests that the shortage isn't just confined to 'independent' mercenary or militia groups but also affects the army itself.

The supplies include "cases of inadequate quality ammunition, including category 2 and 3 (with defects or generally unsuitable for combat use)". As can be seen from the pictures, the ammunition now is unusable and probably unsafe, likely resulting from poor storage conditions.

:ROFL: :ROFL::ROFL: logical foolery

"look how bad russia is, theyve expanded since the 1700!!"

"yeah the west did the same, actually far worse"

"ag please man it wasnt illegal then!!!"

It wasn't. It became illegal after 1945. Your attempt at weak humour and appeal to ridicule logical fallacy doesn't negate the fact.

oh and the nato neo-colonialist expansion of today is happening in plain sight for all who will see. :X3:

NATO is not a government nor a political organisation. It is a military alliance voluntarily joined by its member countries. It cannot expand at all without the governments of countries applying to join it. Why do so many not understand what NATO is and think it's a political entity?

cant comment on the message so you attack the messenger.

lol at bullying tactics, which is all the nazi lovers here have been doing against all other points of view. so much so that its a waste of time to discuss anything here.

nevermind the juvenile attempt to go back 300 years to dry dig out a "but russia bad" argument

fkn wow. talk about logical foolery

the words are only tripping in your head, its what happens when the fooled is presented with reality. seen it in action loud and proud over the past couple of years.

So no answer to my post at all? Just a rambling ad hominem including several more logical fallacies. Grade 8 level. Do try a more mature response.

And now we're expecting Ukrainians are going to be dressing up in Russian uniforms (war crime btw) and sabotage parts of Transnistria (which has nothing to do with the war) so that Ukraine can seize warehouses because they're running out of ammo (stealing, don't you know).

Ukraine always seems to have a supply issue yet has nothing to show for it.

Very scummy from Ukraine but what can you expect.

Anti Semitic and holocaust denial. Nice.
Clearly you have no idea what either even means

Stick to afrikaans riet-rot - evidently similes, metaphores, innuendo & subtext are beyond your grasp

ps
It's Thursday, you should be washing and preparing your white robe & pointy hat for tomorrow night's dance around the fire

Must really annoy the powers that be that the media isn't some totally compliant entity and is actually challenging them (to some level) on their fscking bullshyte.

The media actually laughed at the military during the briefing:

A request by Lieutenant-General SG Hlongwa at the close of a media briefing — held aboard the SAS Mendi in Richards Bay — to “write positively about South Africa” resulted in laughs of disapproval from some of the media, leading Hlongwa to add: “Seriously, you know, that is very important… I am not saying don’t tell the facts. I am saying tell the facts and tell them positively.”

Apparently the Ukrainians are running out of 152mm shells (I think that's the right calibre) for their artillery and are incapable of making their own because Slava Ukraini excellence or whatever, so they now have to resort to invading another country in order to pillage warehouses and resupply their stocks.

I wonder when they plan to start their invasion of another country.

Twitter has already shown video of them moving soldiers for the last 2 days towards that direction.

I assume the Russian peacekeepers there will just set light to the warehouses and be done with it.

-99/10 for this level of copium.
