Traces of explosives found at Nord Stream pipelines, confirming 'gross sabotage,' Sweden says

To all those saying Russia had no reason to blow their own pipeline, Russia would have owed record penalties. Blowing the pipeline means they can claim Force Majeure and be absolved of the penalty payments:

Buyers of Russian gas in Europe filed lawsuits against #Gazprom for $15 billion After German Uniper and RWE, the largest French energy company Engie has filed a lawsuit against Gazprom over shortfalls in gas supplies. 1/4

The amount of Engie's claims, which was not officially disclosed, is estimated by analysts at $1.3 billion, based on the fact that the company received 2 billion cubic meters of gas under long-term contracts. 2/4

According to analysts' calculations, the total volume of claims to Gazprom has reached about $15 billion. The record-breaking claim against Gazprom - for $12.5 billion - was filed by the German Uniper, which bought 20 billion cubic meters per year. 3/4

Uniper was on the verge of bankruptcy and was de facto nationalized after being left without a key supplier and forced to buy fuel at high prices on the spot market. The German government spent 29 billion euros to save the company.

Lol. You guys should have sticked with the pipe pig BS. Already flip flopping to alternative conspiracy theories just looks stupid.

I haven't flip flopped on anything?

It could be a US submarine or a Russian submarine.

Or it could have been divers.

It could also have been Gazprom using their pig.

The evidence for any of these has not been presented.

The comedy gold has been you guys taking Hersh's article at face value, without applying a semblance of rational judgment or critical analysis.

Why Norway? Why the story about a 14 year old teenager, who broke several Norwegian laws and worked with the CIA in the 1970's.

you left out the alien mothership theory

if we're going to pretend just any theory is equally probable to the next the alien mothership belongs on that list

NS2 ruptured clean off on a pipe joint.

Exactly at the point where the pipe laying contractor had to return to after completion of the pipe and carry out repairs for a month in 2021.

I think NS2 was not the target. I think the explosion on NS1 (the target) caused NS2 to rupture at a defective joint.

the OP talks about explosive traces found at the site of the pipes (plural) sabotage

if NS2 had traces of explosives as well as NS1 your hogwash is just that: hogwash

nobody has stated the explosive traces were found at only one of the sites, that is all in your fantasy land

Maybe you are right, the wording isn't great. "The site" is singular, but there are two sites?

Just observing that the damage to NS1 vs the damage to NS2 are a world of difference.

A clean break vs obliteration. The pipe on NS1 that was blown off landed vertically alongside. Damaged concrete, burst out steel. Where as NS2 clean cut and the pipe is right alongside.

And you pretend 1 theory is 100% true despite the multiple contradictions and unexplained points of that theory?
where have I done that?

for clarity: any theory that starts with "USA did it" is more probable imo, given that the USA has most to gain / the clearest motive

as for BALTOPS/Sey Hersh vs some submarine operation, the BALTOPS one matches the typical USA modus operandi better, but whatever, could be that, could be subs, could be some entirely different explanation

the one thing that remains most likely is: "USA did it"

The the US saboteurs did the Ruskies a favour?

oh FFS stop repeating this obvious LIE, force majeure was already in place since July of that year:

Surely, key sentence is this one? If you can present evidence to the alien mothership, that is good enough.
The evidence for any of these has not been presented.

the evidence for all theories have not been presented

so no, I don't need to provide any alien mothership evidence in order to claim it is as probable as the rest based on the standards put forth in this thread

naturally I believe it to be nonsense, purely demonstrating how silly that game is
