De Ruyter strikes back – blows the lid on ANC corruption, political interference and worse load shedding this winter

At least Gwede looked him in the eye, called him by name and openly accused him of things, our guy is not brave enough to do the same with the high ranking MP who is busy looting Eskom or the top cop who is busy releasing the Eskom saboteurs.
It's very easy to be brave when you're in a position of power with the backing of a powerful mafia.
Not so easy to speak truth to power, when you've already survived what you believe to be an assassination attempt.

Yeah, so much easier to be brave when you know you're untouchable and have the might of the government and the ANC behind you.

If you stripped Gwede of all his power, he'd turn into a fscking pathetic coward....

Fair enough, it's also just to easy to tell stories about unnamed top cops who are releasing criminals and unnamed MPs who are looting Eskom, you catch the sympathy without the consequences.

Oh but he got the consequences, he got immediately let go, and he has to leave the country for his own safety.

Just the first event is enough to lend more than enough credence to his story, especially when the bones of the story track with peoples day to day experience with the police and politicians.

My own personal experience of a politician from the ANC, after the floods in Durban we were begging our Ward councilor to actually do SOMETHING, even just respond to a single Whatsapp.. but instead he started trying to bargain for his services and wouldn't do anything for the more affluent side of his ward until that side of the ward had organised a TLB at their expense for the poorer side of the ward to try possibly dig up bodies.

I get that you're trying to be the voice of reason here (and maybe to an extent playing devil's advocate), but at this point it seems that you are applying very different standards of expected behaviour/burdens of proof to "one side" vs "the other". It's undermining your credibility, in my opinion.

The bug thing is probably the biggest blemish against him, and whoever this "forensic" person is.

Well, he does say he received a comprehensive report from the forensic investigator.

But that's not the interesting part. Andre says he spoke to his contact at OIGI and they told him it's one of theirs.

Yeah I heard/saw that... so one has to wonder if they're all playing him, or if the photo that was leaked was intentionally incorrect.

Nope, I am applying the same standard we use on MyBb all the time. Remember I am not even asking De Ruyter to prove his allegations, I am asking him to own them, so we'll get to the burden of proof later for now it's nota problem.

You think AdR is looking for sympathy?

Reminds of the SCA spy tapes that Mbeki acccused Zuma of possessing. The media played out that Mbeki was paranoid.

No, Advocate Teffo is better than him, he appeared on TV and gave us all the names of the people who are after him, Cele, Ramaphosa and others.

Except we know that Teffo is a fscking moron who should be laughed at.

Thats all a lie, it is a Volvo panic button

At least Gordon was kind to De Ruyter,

somebody in the higher echelon had to stand up to the rot. Everyone in the public knows about the corruption, but what De Ruyter did was to urge urgency. I was hoping that more on the board would do the same, but they made their stance.
Everyone is worried about an ex-CEO that speaks up but what everyone is missing is how captured the Eskom board has to be to allow all this nonsense to go on without any accountability.

Also - I am sure De Ruyter would have had numerous sessions with the board regarding the state of affairs.

Given how easy it is in SA to quickly hire someone to take a life, he has made an extremely dangerous and calculated move which, at least to me, points to the fact that we should heed his words as truth...this isn't about his career anymore, it's about his life!

Here I tend to agree - the fact that they found the 'one' person responsible for the purchase of knee-pads at R80k each, report them to the police and the police just releasing them, seems a bit rich. Surely Eskom has a procurement division that is in charge of procurement of goods that have a signed paper trail? Why wasn't one of the managers charged, alongside whatever employee it was, that procured these items at such a ridiculous price?

The board is fairly new, so I don't know what you are basing your capture claims on, most of the things De Ruyter is talking about are not things that happened yesterday, but even if they did happen yesterday, if De Ruyter is powerless when a top cop releases a criminal that was caught red handed how is the board different?
