ANC gives De Ruyter seven days to lay criminal charges over corruption at Eskom or else...

The ANC under their own letterhead, is about to bring proceedings against De Ruyter. De Ruyter alone can't penetrate the state, it is his word against theirs.

He is protected under the whistleblowers act that allows disclosure to the media.

Still, the evidence has to be established as being credible, and yes, he was the Eskom CEO, but it will come under the board's scrutiny where certain aspects will be denied, and only then it will move on to those implicated. So guess what then, a commission will be appointed, and this nation has been there many a time. We haven't, historically, had good success with recommendations made by the commissions. Has Jacob Zuma been charged with State Capture, lol, no. Is Cadre Deployment being addressed, LOL, no. The snake's head always keeps slithering around, always. The main witness will be no one other than De Ruyter... Just wait until they bring about implicating him.

In the case the board is covering up, not knowing to which extent they could be involved then some common things can be argued.

Who is really being punished, the ordinary citizen. The best way to bring an end to this oppression is to vote the ANC out at the national elections, and yes, the ordinary citizen is being depressed not only due to circumstance but due to state induced conditions.
My opinion and reference to the board, they are well established and accomplished successful business people, they have too much to lose to find themselves embroiled in this mess
The board in this instance is more powerful and respected than some of these ministers

They have surely been ducking and diving for long enough. But even the most protected in Africa still eventually lose. Look at Mugabe and Dos Santos. I only hope that in our case it happens through our legal and civil systems and not as elsewhere in Africa.

The ANC really is setting new standards of retardation here.

If they want the NPA to prosecute Dr Ruyter for "hiding corruption" it means the NPA need to prove that corruption took place under De Ruyter with his knowledge. Except that he isn't the one being accused of corruption, he is accusing the ANC of benefitting illegally from the contracts.

All his defence requires him to prove is that cooperated with law enforcement at every step. Which is likely what he did.
And if he didn't, he will pay a fine and be done with it, unlike the ANC who will be stuck with the NPA having proven corruption took place that benefitted their organisation.

Can anyone with a News24 account give a summary?

OPINION | Nick Dall and Matthew Blackman: Calling BS on André de Ruyter's 'white Afrikaans blind spots'

Stephen Grootes gave the article support within his own piece,

His actions even led, not incorrectly, to an opinion piece about the role of the Broederbond in Eskom in the past.

Just want to gauge the context in which it is written because likening things to the past will be exploited by the ANC. Give it enough time, and we have a tribunal calling old and dead Broerderbond members to answer to Eskom's collapse giving the ANC many more years to breathe.

This is the excerpt, and I understand that blind spot is synonymously used, you know, BS.

André de Ruyter, in his gone-viral interview with Annika Larsen, seems to believe his "white Afrikaans blind spots" prevented him from fully understanding the corruption at Eskom. Given the long and sordid relationship between Eskom and the National Party, one must wonder what rear-view mirror he's been looking in, write Nick Dall and Matthew Black.

The alleged implicated ministers would need the board to navigate their transactions. It is possible that the board is captured.

Everybody at the ANC has agreed that state capture did in fact happen. So why has not a single one of them been charged with not reporting it. Surely they ALL knew about it.
That's actually one of the charges Magashule is facing, and you will find that it is the same with many others who are facing corruption charges, the common theme would be that they might not have necessarily done the corruption themselves but they knew that corruption was happening and they did nothing as accounting officers or public office bearers.
The State alleges that Magashule and others, including Olly Mlamleli, who was the former MEC for Human Settlements, were legally bound to comply with the stipulations in the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), as well as the Treasury Regulations.

“The State further alleges that a legal duty existed, [in the cases of] accused 1, 2, 11, 12 and 13, to disclose deviations from and/or noncompliance with departmental prescripts, stipulations in the PFMA and Treasury regulations, and/or to disclose the personal and/or business relationship between themselves and accused 3 and/or Ignatius Mpambani and/or companies which they were involved in or owned,” the indictment reads. Magashule and 15 others are back in the Free State High Court again on 3 November 2021.
