South Africa faces ‘civil war’ conditions due to possibility of power grid collapse

im not jealous, if anything people should be downgrading not buying more stupid U v's
when Fuel stations run out of fuel, will you sleep in the car in a Giant traffic Jam just to fill up your car, to drive to work?

I mean look to our Neighbours in ZIM, some of them sleep in their cars just to get fuel for their car.
its on the cards for SA, and driving a Big thirsty SUV wont look like such a great idea soon enough.

It's starting to happen already. Our farmer's co-op had to limit diesel quantities to 70 litres per person a month ago and 50 litres yesterday because fuel deliveries are inconsistent and don't arrive on time.

I'm sure if you googled Michael Jackson wore a tutu you'd find that as well. I'm sure there are POC of who say it as well, but at the end of the day Apartheid was cruel and inhuman, hence why the ANC can keep using it to keep the voters at bay.
Sure the ANC has squandered and screwed up everything and we're showing for it now, but the Apartheid way wasn't the best, it might've been fine for 10% of the population and it might've started to improve for the majority towards it's end, but just because infrastructure was better, we can't say it was better during.

Tell me about Baragwanath hospital then:

Baragwanath hospital was built by the apartheid government for the exclusive use of black people. Whites were not allowed to use it. When it was built it was the biggest state of the art hospital in the world, with 3200 beds and at its peak almost 8000 staff and had 23 operation theaters. The ANC tacked the Chris Hani name on in one of their renaming frenzies to make it seem as if they built the hospital.

Today the hospital is falling apart from neglect like all the other hospitals the apartheid government built. There were excellent hospitals in all the towns. Towns that now have a doctor visit twice a week actually had four doctors permanently and functioning surgical theatres. These have been reduced to poorly maintained clinics under the ANC.

Gotta keep the man down, a couple Casspirs filled with police will do that.

And yet the security forces killed 518 of the blacks killed during apartheid. Who killed the rest of the 21 000 that died under apartheid?

Max Coleman’s authoritative book analyses all deaths due to political violence from 1948 to 1994 in South Africa and Namibia.

According to the HRC statistics, 21,000 people died in political violence in South Africa during apartheid – of whom 14,000 people died during the six-year transition process from 1990 to 1994. The book lists the number of incidents, dates, and those involved.

This includes SA Defence Force actions, for instance the 600 deaths at Cassinga in Angola during the war in 1978.

Of those deaths, the vast majority, 92%, have been primarily due to Africans killing Africans — such as the inter-tribal battles for territory: this book’s detailed analyses of the period June 1990 to July 1993 indicates a total of 8580 (92%) of the 9,325 violent deaths during the period June 1990 to July 1993 were caused by Africans killing Africans, or as the news media often calls it, “Black on Black” violence – hostel killings, Inkatha Freedom Party versus ANC killings, and taxi and turf war violence.

The activities of the Civil Cooperation Bureau as outlined by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, were also included in these figures.

The security forces of the RSA caused 518 deaths (5.6%) throughout this period.

And again, during the transitional period, the primary causes of deaths were not security forces nor white right-wing violence against blacks (The AWB was allied with the IFP (Zulu)), but mainly due to “black-on-black necklace murders”, tribal conflict between the ANC-IFP, bombs by the ANC and PAC’s military wings in shopping centres, landmines on farm roads, etc.

Actually no they didn't have much lower staff, in fact in 1994 they were already at 39k and the EAF was around 77% (which isn't bad for now) .
There is this weird belief that Eskom was producing double the generation with half the staff when that was never the case, Eskom could produce 37GW in 94 and peaked at 35

Was there loadshedding prior to the ANC?

NK is a completely different type of shíthole. C'mon man, pretend like you know some stuff.

Iran's worst problem at the moment is that women need to wear headscarfs, Not really a Christian thing, Christian conservatives are slightly different. No porn legally, and no open bottle stores on a Sunday, like you still get in some far off Freestate towns.

Otherwise stuff would mostly work.

"Yes, it was just a case of Common Robbery"

You have big dreams of what we were.

Tweet by John Baloyi. I'm not on twitter so someone here can find and post please @dijosti:

Whether we like to accept it or not, the fact of the matter is that Afrikaners, the tribe of Andre de Ruyter, built Eskom, Sasol, Post Office, DENEL, SAA, SABC, SABS, Yscor, Spoornet. And our tribe destroyed it all in less than 20 years. Yet we seem to know who's competent and not

I leave you to ponder that.

Wow...

With Eskom saying that it could take up to 14 days to restart the grid, one starts to wonder what this might look like.

Cellphones dead, unless you have stockpiled quite a few power banks. Not that is would help as most cell towers don't last long during load shedding.

Guys with solar are suddenly going to be very popular with their neighbours

Cannot draw money at ATM's?

Companies cannot Invoice customers.

People are going to be hoarding braai wood :p

MyBB should do an article on what to expect

Toilets backed up and overflowing into your house from those higher up. If you have a lower floor flat or downstairs toilet in a townhouse, tough.

Shops looted. Your home is next when they've eaten that.

No fuel as the pumps need electricity.

Traffic jams as people try to leave the cities with hordes preying on those in the jams.

City refugees being turned away from small towns by armed residents.

Think about it.

Worse than basket case. A dangerous mafia controlled state. SA is well beyond the point of the usual political nitpicking and back stabbing. We are standing at the edge of a cliff and at any time a civil war could spark off.

Yep. Anyone want to venture that by voting yes in the referendum in 1992 a civil war was prevented? Or was it just delayed?

People have a rose tinted view of how well things were run under the National Party. They seem to forget the bloated bureaucracy, the slow service and bad attitude of most government staff.

Compared to now?

Exactly and it's no surprise that these reports come from these particular Western countries.
Weren't they the ones that had the most draconion lockdown policies during Covid?
I'm expecting similar reports from UK and Canada.
Seems they salivating at the prospects of African bodies lying in the streets.

Oh dear, the victimhood and entitlement brigade has arrived.
