Dirty AF. Think places like Queenstown in SA. Bear in mind, though, that I was last there in 2017, so it may have improved.

Although a recent(ish) article seems to suggest it's still a problem.

The people have that island mentality which is to be expected and are generally unfriendly to foreigners and always look miserable.

Overall I didn't enjoy my time there very much and definitely would not think of settling there. But as a gateway to getting EU residence, many people will overlook the issues.

Did you read the article ? Even if I had the money, I wouldn't consider going there. Caveat - if article is factual.

very small and overpopulated, if you like the beach you can only go out of season or make peace with being packed in like a sardine

traffic is a mare

apparently quite the night life and creative drug scene, appealing for some, a big warning sign for others e.g. those who may want to start a family in a safe environment

in the IT space you'll need to work in either the online gambling or crypto domains

it's full of Maltese

Guess it's time I go and join the Knights Of Malta
