This is why cash is best.

1. Less Taxes
2. No worries about data breaches
3. You effectively become invincible for the credit bureaus. If you dont need credit, then you will survive much easier.

And yes you can take suitcases of cash to most lawyers to buy the property.

Well if it worked for Zuma and Shaik...
This is a good article as this guys only crime is selling data that doesn't belong to him. He broke no privacy laws. Yet he was found guilty,

A good lawyer would have gotten him off or appealed to a higher court. Also just shows medical excuses don't hold water for non politically connected.
Lesson to learn If you want to steal then implicate others in your stealing. A lone gun is stupid and risky and shows SA does have a legal system.

Given that the information made it to the black market, he did make his money and now he skipped town.

Why are they all so scared of going to jail? If you do the crime, you have to do the time. Easy as that. Jails do have medical staff, they can help him breathe nicely inside.

Are you volunteering to do a spell inside?

The South African Banking Risk Centre warned on 19 August 2020 that a major data breach at Experian exposed the personal information of South Africans and business entities.

Experian later issued a statement clarifying that their systems weren’t breached.

Experian South Africa CEO Ferdie Pieterse said someone had impersonated a legitimate client and fraudulently requested services from the credit bureau.

1) I like the spin.
If Experian "systems weren't beached" then there is nothing for us to worry about and our PI data is secure???
Most IT security people would classify a full database loss as a data breach using social engineering.

2) Karabo Phungula is going to jail if they can extradite him from his sick bed in the Bahamas.
Q1. What punishment is being given to Experian (and Transunion) - they more guilty.
Q2. What compensation is being paid by Experian (and Transunion) to end users?

Phungula said he could not appear due to a medical condition that caused him shortness of breath. He said he could not disclose the condition.

I occasionally had the same condition at school when I hadn't done my homework. It's called Bunkalitis...

Information Regulator chair Pansy Tlakula recently revealed that her office has received over 500 notifications of data violations.

However, the regulator has not issued a single fine for violating the Protection of Personal Information Act.
Who's funding the regulator?
