So boycotting did do something.

Of course it did.

At least Dis-chem is honest about it, unlike other restaurant groups that manipulated figures to pretend that they were not affected by boycotts...

People should just continue. Let Dis-chem RIP. Retrench more staff, scale down and hopefully become a small corner medical cafe.

Government should learn to butt out of the economy. This is more tax revenue lost to them too.

Not sure why there is so much hate towards Dischem, they are part of the system (Listed company) that needs to comply to BBEEE requirements or face fines. Now they are caught in the middle (will loose business from white South Africans and will possibly also face fines as they don't meet the BBEEE requiements. Geuss the big winner is independant pahramcies hope they us ethe opportuniy well!

It's the poor skills of the CEO in what was and how it was communicated in the letter.

So dischem stops hiring or promoting whites, as i'm assuming that they have too many whites in management positions and then the thin skinned / butt hurt whites drop out of their stores?
i guess, dischem should retrench some whites instead, to keep their color ratios correct as enforced by the state? guess some whites may be less happy about the thin skinned / butt hurt whites wanting them to lose their jobs?
sounds about right or am i interpreting this wrong?

Anyway, good on them for losing out. I've been boycotting them all the way, and will keep doing it.

Business needs to make a stand against tyrannical anc policies but they won't until they actually get hurt

Very amateurish BEE standard trolling. You have some pro's in this thread. Need to up your game bud.

Some how I dont believe this. Just begging for sympathy. Do any of you actually know anyone who left due to the letter?

what do you mean, i'm white myself, lily white at that. i didn't follow the fracas around dischem, i'm attempting at understanding the butthurt and assuming that dischem is/was heavy with lighter skinned employees/management? also assume that the white ceo, saw the expense sheet and had a wobbly around the bbbeee fines he has to pay and wrote a stupid letter that was leaked. so, whats the go?

Ok... I believe you.

Great ! I believe in myself too
I'm going to assume that you're unable to answer my question and retreat into your own butthurt hole? Since there's either some modicum of truth in my assumptions or you're literally too daft to respond to the question and scouring youtube for 90's kark music links to deflect?
