Chanel Robbins has been riding horses most of her life, ever since her grandmother traded a cow from their family’s farm in Ontario for a pony when she was 7.

Galloping through the fields on her pony, Star, offered an escape from thoughts that weighed on her — that she didn’t have a relationship with her biological parents, for instance, or that she was the only Black girl in the neighborhood, aside from her sister.

About eight years ago, she reconnected with her father, a native of Jamaica. As the two grew closer, Ms. Robbins decided to style her hair in dreadlocks, like her dad. But there was a problem: Her riding helmet no longer fit, and she couldn’t find one that did.

Reminds me of people like these at construction sites. Being in charge of OSHA to protect people from themselves was almost a full time job

What a stupid idiot. If only she had an idea of how helmets worked in order to provide optimal protection...

Anecdotal story, many moons ago I was looking for an Aria off-road helmet. Being Aria (like Shoei) they are renowned for quality and protecting your melon but very expensive. So I found one for a very good price on a Japanese online retailer. I exchanged email with the owner and he replied asking my 'race', upon telling him Caucasian he firmly and politely refused to sell me the helmet I wanted. He explained that they only catered to the Asian market as Asian and Caucasian heads were shaped differently and Arai manufactures different helmets for different markets and he could not sell me a helmet in good conscience for my own safety for which I thanked him.

But no racism... no helmet will ever be safe for a person with so much hair.

Triggered snowflake.

That chick that married Prince Harry?

People don't really think she's black surely?

I've got Scottish ancestry and that woman is paler than I am. That's bloody ridiculous.
You underestimate the stupidity of people out there...
She's technically mixed, as is her mother, but she gains more "victim cred" for leaning into her mothers Black side.
