Doing what is suggested there would probably make Eskom profitable for the first time in forever.

Suddenly Eskom would have money for proper maintenance. A skilled and dedicated workforce.

I imagine generation capacity would quickly increase.

Eskom will never keep the lights on while they continue to try burn rocks, have unions blocking access to power stations come wage increase time or are paying R280 000 for brooms.
They'll also never generate enough electricity for everyone if they are forced to give it away for free.
I guess that makes me stupid.
