Umm you do know when you declare at ANY port of entry (customs) it is actually SARS you are declaring to? which means it would have been on their books.

I am curious. All he said was "He did declare it at the airport" - How did you interpret it as he doesn't know if it goes SARS? That is his only post in this thread.

The amount of money is more than a person is legally allowed to bring into the country without declaring it or declaring it below the threshold (equal to R25 000.00) and it being registered with SARS.

Did you even consider the possibility that a person can lie and not declare and say he declared it ? Or that he declared it and it fell through cracks as the agent "forgot" to log it into the system.. and some other permutations.

Well, in all fairness, he did admit to bringing in the money, reporting it and paying it to Cyril. So, if this is the case, and SARS now found he did not report it, he did commit a crime himself.
