You don't want to get into the business of licencing firearms. A 2A suitable licence is fine, i.e you rock up, give them your ID and there is your federal firearms licence to buy and conceal carry any weapon you want. When you buy a gun, the gun's serial number is just added to the licence if it is new, or it is transferred to another ID if it is 2nd hand.

I always found it odd that both liberals and conservatives have, in the past, blocked any attempt at the creation of a national ID card.
 
And there is a very easy solution to the problem of criminals buying guns, and that is to build a lot more prisons. No need for background checks.
Rape, murder = life sentence in all but the most extenuating circumstances (woman shoots abusive husband in the back of the head for example)

For all other crime, keep sentencing guidelines in place for first time offences.
For next offences, your sentence is whatever you are sentenced to, plus whatever you have served in prison since obviously you didn't learn your lesson the first time.

So for a criminal who would have received the following sentences for individual crimes
1st: 5 years
2nd: 5 years
3rd: 5 years

Total sentencing by end: 15

What they would get is:
1st: 5
2nd: 10
3rd: 15

Total sentencing by end: 30

In other words repeat offenders will spend the rest of their lives in jail automatically.

And once again you miss the argument being made. The argument is not about the integrity of the voting process but the requirement to register to be able to exercise the constitutional right itself.

Gays do not require me to treat them as if they are anything different as their lifestyle choice is confined to the people they have relationships with. The moment it goes outside of that, I have a problem with it.
Trannies demand that society treat them as if they are something they are not.


But lets take this to its logical conclusion.
Consider the case if you were single, would you consider dating and having sex with a trans woman?

I have never met any trans man or woman. Where do you meet these people that you are so angry about them ?

I am a vegetarian so you might as well ask if I would consider dating a non-vegetarian - then answer would be generally no if I was young. Today, answer is yes.

If you don't treat them as woman, according to progressives, you are "erasing them". That isn't my rhetoric, that is the core rhetoric of all modern progressivism.
It is the same thing with race. If you treat a black person as an individual, you would be erasing their blackness and thus oppressing them.
And with class as well: if you expect someone in the lower classes to not burn down everything in their path because they are unhappy, you are oppressing them.

Under this Marxist type of thinking, anything is possible, which is why it attracts perverts.
"If you don't allow adults to have sex with children, you are oppressing their inherent sexuality".
