Top banking CEO on South Africa: ‘This can’t continue’

Last edited:
No political party funding to ANYONE until we see meaningful changes to policies and ministers that are helping to destroy SA?

1.) Is Nedbank funding any party?

2.) The solution to South Africa's problems is government that is not systemically corrupt, so there's nothing wrong with funding opposition parties that are not systemically corrupt.

Why doesn't big business grow some balls and put some pressure on the government by pushing the following narrative:

No political party funding to ANYONE until we see meaningful changes to policies and ministers that are helping to destroy SA?
Because the country is run by criminals who will stop at nothing to secure their feeding at the trough.

1) Not suggesting that Nedbank are funding anyone but I am suggesting that these top CEO's apply more pressure, as big business, on these incapable politicians by removing the only thing that politicians need to be corrupt: funding!

2) Opposition parties are lame ducks that offer no meaningful change to the current situation. Sure, the DA can manage municipalities better than the others, but on a national level, who can apply their policies the best? OUTA and many other Civil Organisations have done more to help change & help SA than most of the opposition parties have ever done in their existence.

What I am suggesting is that these top CEO's have more clout than the average South African and they should use said clout to pressure change for the better as much as possible.

Can't make this $hit up:
Chairperson of Nedbank
Mpho joined the board as an Independent Non-executive Director on 17 November 2011. He previously served as Lead Independent Director and Acting Chairperson and was appointed Chairperson of the board on 2 December 2021. He is the immediate former Chairperson of the Invest in Africa Mining Indaba and a former Chairperson of Eskom Holdings Limited, where he led the team that kept the lights on during the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

In other words, Nedbank's chairperson is one of the people responsible for today's crisis. Them burning out the power stations in 2010 to save face for the world cup

I like Mike but the reality is that the big 5 legacy banks are aiding and abetting what the ANC/EFF orcs are up to. Billions spent on fancy AML platforms and yet widescale money laundering of astronomical amounts is happening every single day.

LOL the exact same big business that was quick to bend the knee & do the sycophant sucking of the proverbial ANC Emperor's phallus on the altar of sustained profits?

Yeah nope, not happening, they don't care about anything else but their own survival its everyone for himself now.

Bankers are as morally corrupt as politicians and lawyers.
It takes a network of corruption to enable this scale of looting.

more empty words from people facilitating the theft.

There's AML mechanisms in place. Why aren't they using these to expose corruption. Why aren't they shutting down bank accounts. Why aren't they working with the NPA's investigating directorate and other banks on lifestyle audits and prosecutions.

Guess it's just easier to cry in the media about how things need to change. Money is the objective for corruption, and they're using your channels to move it around. Catch a fking wake up if you really care...

Perhaps it's a kraai for help. Them card-carrying ANC cadres on their boards are keeping the Banks and Financial institutions in check.

This is not far off. A huge amount of NEDs are dirty as hell.

AFAIK, none of the banks in SA froze Gupta or Zuma accounts until they realized it is a huge reputational risk. I am pretty sure money changed hands in private sector as well.
