Barnes explained that SOEs in South Africa do not lack money but are short of time and leadership.
You mean Government bailouts?

For example, the SOE should partner with expertise that will serve the entity.
Yeah, they have moved on because well how to I put this .... because you suck and have failed. RIP.

Former SA Post Office CEO Mark Barnes said the state-owned enterprise has "commercially irreplaceable infrastructure"
He's not wrong.

There's no way you could create a new enterprise at this point that could steal as many parcels as SAPO does. It's simply not replaceable.

There is no infrastructure left. What was just working was allowed to deteriorate until it stopped working

A brand new 5 ton van with PO insignia, upside down in a culvert on the M5 in Cape Town. All that was in had been stolen

He is divorced from reality. All the staff at my local PO were dismissed in January

Barnes told Business Day TV the Post Office could not be replicated as it provides a trusted destination that serves the entire population.

Their ledger accounts would speak differently to that comment

There is nothing that they currently do that can't be easily replaced.

Grants, do cash send that they can withdraw the money at any bank machine or many tills.

Licence disks, you can get it online or at one of the many licencing departments.

Shipping, already many low cost options.

Etc
