Is BEE holding back South Africa’s growth?

a person with brain in their knees will ask such questions

BTW

Most of the malls are owned by Chinese....one of the banks are also now held by China. A while ago there was a big Virgin Active and PnP in Rivonia. Now its all owned by China, virgin and pnp left after china coming in. When u transact at such places who gets ckued is VAT and SARS...

Noticed that at China Mart in Crown Mines. The vendors I visited work only with cash.

About 15 years ago due to my line of work had to interact with a few BEE types. It got quite annoying that I was earning this average salary and drove a average car and had to deal with all of the slack created by these BEE imbeciles because even though they earned huge salaries and drove high end cars they were as thick as pig shyte. No frikkin clue how anything worked, zero business sense. Million rand cars and shiny suits is good business practice to them. totally clueless.

That entire mall at crown mines is owned by Chinese. If any other Chinese shops u pay by card, if you observe, the card machines are not the ones from standard bank or FNB or Nedbank or ABSA. Some funny suppler u would not have heard of which is used to siphon off everything from here to god knows where

I went to the driving school nearby once to buy an SA driving license for someone. Since it was a quick job, saw this mall nearby and went inside. Hence I still have a bit of memory about it. Everything was on sale there for foreign nationals. TRP, learner license(someone takes ur online exam), license etc

I would put it as the number 1 reason holding back foreign investment, just edging out Eskom. Those two combined are a horror show to investors and we haven't even gotten to the laundry list of other dumb **** like EWC.

You've got to give it to the Chinese though - everything is clean and has a semblance of order even if packed with a lot of stock.

I wonder if a generous portion of profits is transferred offshore, back to China. PRC government is known for funding Chinese businesses throughout the globe to expand their influence.
