Wait hang on.
Does this rely on some kind of cloud service?

Nope, it has changed:Is this still how you have yours set up? What is your battery capacity?
I'm in the process of configuring mine, but want to find safe limits so I don't get caught my pants down even if I end up wasting potential solar input.
by this i am assuming you mean the Sunsyk Connect app? if so then yesWait hang on.

Damnit. I'm morally opposed to using cloud services like this.by this i am assuming you mean the Sunsyk Connect app? if so then yes
It is needed for software updates etc.Damnit. I'm morally opposed to using cloud services like this.
Is it required to work the thing? Or just a nice to have?
I'd be curious to know what functionality the updates provide. It is needed for software updates etc.
You can remove the dongle or restrict its connectivity then use Solar Assistant (Raspberry Pi + Software) which works totally locally (and also offers a DynDNS type method to access it remotely) but does not allow for inverter software updates
You can relax they're not watching you in the shower or seeing what you browse on Tor...I'm not too keen on letting some Chinese company gather more data about my electricity use habits.
Totally reasonable - i mean there was an exploit on the Solarman platform sometime last year which exposed inverters to malicious actors so its not outside the realm of possibility.I'd be curious to know what functionality the updates provide.
I'm not too keen on letting some Chinese company gather more data about my electricity use habits.
But thanks for the info, will be sure to take it into account when I scratch up the cash in another couple of months.

That's an odd T&C. Never seen that with anything else. You’ll find most inverters your warranty is only valid with an internet connection.
So good luck trying to avoid that.
Ron, Any chance that you can post us a photo of your Kabookie system settings with a short explanation?Nope, it has changed:
Jhb system has all System Mode entries at 30%.
Shutdown is 21%
Alarm is 25%
Restart is 26%
3x Pylontech US3000Bs
Kabookie system has all entries at 40% except 17H00 - 21H00 is 50%
Shutdown 10%
Alarm 15%
Restart 25%
3x Hubble AM-2
I just made a change now to put all System Mode time entries at 30%.Sure, but no photo, I am not there today. Took it off the web app. What needs explaining?

Loadshedding is no longer a concern unless you're running purely a backup system.I see most users stick to the default times. I change them to match loadshedding slots in the area.
Time 1 - 00h00 to 04h00
Time 2 - 04h00 to 08h00
etc
Is there some kind of API that you could hook up to, or are you planning on scheduling things manually?1. Going to have to automate a few things with HA, get myself some smart breakers for the geyser and pool pump and then hook into the loadshedding schedule.
I believe that part is worked out already: https://mybroadband.co.za/forum/thr...ush-to-control-switches-on-ha.1195256/page-16Is there some kind of API that you could hook up to, or are you planning on scheduling things manually?
