Ahh let's drop the Lions and send the Pumas to the URC rather.

They playing amazing Rugby

I know this is Currie Cup but this is embarrassing. There are a bunch of URC and ex Springbok players there.

How are they allowing the Pumas to put 60+ points against them. Sies
Exactly. MS belongs in the old age home

And then he has the nerve to blame the young guys in the team when he passed the ball wrecklessly around causing some of the free tries for the Pumas

Looking at Ireland vs Scotland, we have a very tough worldcup pool.

These two teams are playing some great running rugby.

We are really going to have to front up.

I constantly see stats on European games "ruck speed"

Why is Europe going with speed but South Africa still goes with the slow pick n go and forwards.

I think if we don't have a speed backup plan we are in trouble.

So gents now that the 6 nations is done and dusted, what are your thoughts in terms of the world cup? And how do you think the Boks will fair? I think all the pressure is on Ireland and France and we are just going quietly about our business which suits us just fine.

Depends on the ref.

People are really hyping the Irish and French up.

Nick Mallet made an interesting comment last week on The Final Whistle. A world cup has never been won by a nation playing running Rugby. It's always been a physical up-front battle. How does this statistic play a role in the way Ireland and France play?

Ireland has enough dept to make it through. If Sexton falls then they have enough skill and physicality to grind a win. Once Dupont falls for France they will be in big trouble.

We need to focus on Ireland, New Zealand and Wales.

Ireland and France are hyping themselves up. Let them.

Ireland
Farrell made the bold claim that this team would be better at the World Cup than they currently are and sounded a warning to all potential rivals.

“I have just been saying to Johnny (Sexton) there is bigger fish to fry than this (Six Nations), so we are on to the World Cup … we are a good side that has nowhere reached its potential,” Farrell said at the post-match press conference.

“I have been saying over the last couple of weeks that this is what we are striving to do. We will get a few people back to compete and to train hard.

“You know, everyone is going to get better in the summer when we get to spend a lot more time together, so we expect our side when we get to the first game of the World Cup to be a lot better than what we are now and that is the reality.”

France
Their last foray in 2007 at home was a total disaster -albeit a forward-pass win over the All Blacks - although they were nowhere near the confident side they are at the moment

And given the way they have played over the last fortnight against both England and Wales, it is understandable why they are in a cocky mood, with coach Fabian Galthie saying teams are “scared” of them now.

“I hope that teams are scared of us now. We’re certainly the team to beat,” Galthie said after France’s win over Wales.

“We do have an impressive victory ratio. We’ve only lost once here [in Paris]. We started the Six Nations in a lacklustre way, we did as well as we could.

“Four victories from five in four Six Nations, we have a success rate of 80 per cent in the Six Nations. So it’s very positive, if we have to do a purely factual round-up of things.”

Both Ireland and France have good strong forward packs so they will be difficult to beat in the world cup

I have a couple of concerns about the Boks though.

Everyone knows by now the Boks are physical and dominate up front. Bom Squad but aren't we a bit too predictable? Clearly the game has moved up from what it was at the 2019 world cup with NH teams looking pretty good.

Do we have that 9 that can snipe in the fringes around a ruck or are we employing the super slow ruck and box kick strategy which again we have been doing for ages? This is risky because we can lose a winger to a card if they get it wrong. Do we have the 10 that can see when a 50-22 is up or when the brave defenders just make those leg tackles to put a small chip kick over the defensive line?

Do we have a backline that can execute a proper stack attack from a set piece or are we just going to continue up front until we hopefully win a penalty which brings me to my last question. Do we have a kicker that we can rely on to take every point on offer? We are certainly going to need a good kicker if we go for a power game which I think we are going to do again.
