Tshwane Metro Police promises to arrest traffic-directing beggars

The JMPD fatties just sit in their cars all day with a speed camera. They are absolutely good for nothing.

Came to say the first part. But alas this is SA where the police minister interferes in sovereign federal business and arrests people with permits on the beach and you get killed for enjoying a dop and siggie in your private home.
 
Is Cele going to be there to take the credit? Can we rather use them to fight actual crime?

So they’ll drive to busted traffic lights and arrest them instead of driving there to help direct traffic?
 
Why not employ some of these people, give them a bit of basic training in directing traffic, and enable them to do a proper job?

To put it in perspective it takes 1 1/2 hours to drive trough pinetown central during loadshedding, where as a normal day is about 15 minutes, most of it is from cars/taxis going straight in the turn lanes, messing up the flow, traffic officers to direct the traffic would solve this problem.

So the problem with training them is the legal requirements around making them "Peace officers" or whatever the hell they are referred to in this country now so that they can legally direct traffic.

We do need more traffic/metro officers without a doubt, but it needs to be done properly and they need to be full police officers rather than just traffic controllers.

I do wonder why the hell you try drive through the central of Pinetown ever :P

Sadly its the only way back from dropping my dog at doggy daycare so after 4:00pm it goes insane, if I didnt love my dog as much I would never step foot there nevermind drive trough it ....
 
I think they should be arrested.

A lot of the busy intersections are now being vandalized so that the beggars get to direct traffic even when there is no load shedding because they make a lot more directing traffic than begging.

1st prize would be to have JMPD, TMPD directing traffic obviously.

Well the Metro crowd have vacated that space/duty, and the only ones who have stepped up are the beggars.

So, if they are not happy with the situation, then they must step up and reclaim that space/duty, or **** off.
