Family’s race against time to raise R465 000 after SA doctor arrested

Erm, 1.3 grams of Oxycodone along with her party drugs. Thats 130 doses of the strongest and most addictive oral opioid you can be prescribed in SA. She's an addict.
0.13grams

EDIT: I take 54mg (0.054) methylfenidate a day. Not really a staggering amount she has, neither is it much of a party drug.

Ok so say 13 10mg pillls. Doesn't change my mind. Oxy is as addictive as heroin.
It does seem like the daily dose is about 10mg.

Anyway, my point was actually the piss poor journalism. She may well be an addict.

You will be surprised. Some of my medical and dental colleagues are one bad month away or one missed paycheck away from bankruptcy.
Not really surprised I worked in a department that used to contract doctors into the network at an administrator, I seen the amount they got paid per month per patient and they had to attend to these member no matter the number of visit per month. I remember my doctor in Dbn used to drive the latest E class every year at one time now he still has the same car for over 10 years now.

The Pros are they now get a fixed income a month and access to these patient, the Con is they get paid a fraction of the amount they would have charged.

Been in the medical aid industry for 22 years I have seen the landscape change

Maybe if one has just passed from college & just getting into practice but I don't believe this scenario if one has been running practice (or working somewhere in hospital) for more than 3-5 years.

p.s. One can always find exceptions as some people are just extravagant but those are fringe cases.

Who started this whole alternative facts scenario that she is a doctor?

Amazing how easily fake news propogates

Edit: I see it was the iol headline. Reporter must've been Piet's padawan

Journalists will write a story with only the most basic information, or basically rumours and assumptions and conclusions drawn by themselves.

Every time I see a paywall, I click on 'No, journists must go hungry'

Reading this...

Fun fact, did you guys know there is a Nappy code for Cocaine? It's used in Sinus surgeries

If these issues are hereditary, interesting way to spread your genes.
Her mother, Sandra, told The South African that Uys suffers from Cervical Osteophytes and Cervical Spondylosis. and has a history of ADHD

Morphine, heroin and oxycodone are all essentially the same thing.
The drug enters your blood stream and is very rapidly broken down into morphine.
Oxycodone is behind the US' current drug epidemic and has led to a huge surge in heroin addiction there.

I say this because as soon as you cross borders with a morphine derivative you'd better be sure you have a prescription.

What I'm curious about is, why are you defending this?
Are you also on MDMA, Ritalin and Oxy at the same time?

She is literally taking downers with uppers.
It is similar to a "speedball" (super dangerous mixture of cocaine and heroin) that addicts take to really party

And even then, as many others have pointed out, why not just get the prescription faxed/emailed/etc. over to them?

According to translated court documents, Uys was found in possession of 0.341 grams of 3,4 methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), 0.13 grams of Oxycodone and 0,16 grams of Methylphenidate and 0.825 grams of Pregabalin.

Looks like its iol with the pisspoor copy/paste.
PS deadline was 10 March so she should now face eight to 15 years imprisonment

Only an idiot would think about travelling without having the prescription with them and supporting documents from their doctor, stupid is as stupid does I think

MDMA is a widely-used recreational drug which is illegal in South Africa. From July, psychiatrists in the UK will be able to prescribe the drug to treat post-traumatic stress disorder.
Not likely to get prescription in SA then.

According to Sandra, Genevieve’s legal team is disputing the MDMA possession charge. The mother and daughter believe the drugs were planted to increase the chances of conviction and payment of a fine. “Gen would never sacrifice her 12-year-old international business. Never!” said Sandra.
I see they are disputing MDMA possession but I have no idea how they are going to prove this. Have there been any such cases (planting of drugs) in Georgia ?

That's a hard pass on me for her eggs considering how many different conditions she has.
Valid point. Did she declare that when donating to her patients she is charging a fortune. I doubt it. But when it suits her to play victim she lays her conditions on thick
It's great though. She's CEO of a company where she is also a product. Awesome.
And don't forget she charges a fortune to play egg mule delivering it to clinics.
