EFF national shutdown: 'Don't try that nonsense in Cape Town', says Hill-Lewis

SANTACO's official response,

Uhm, that is not what members of the EFF are conveying on social media...
I am with Roman on this:

If there is one organisation that could actually effect a national shutdown other than the state or a major national company, it is the taxi industry. They control transportation in the country.

I was pointing to that sentiment, quoting this one EFF Tweepspeaker,

they can't put it to rest. It is not only that account, there are many others doing that too, some possibly operated by the same sock puppet. It is all shared by the EFF leadership and other members. SANTACO isn't being respected, they are being villainised by the EFF.

Honestly I would be 100% game for the EFF and SANTACO to fight each other. Just takes one group of EFF idiots to stop people from getting on a taxi and the war will being.

The EFF had close to 2 mil votes? I see SAFTU was established in 2017 and had 17 unions then, ~530 000 members, and I now count 24 estimating them to have a combined ~800 000 members in accordance with Wiki. How many SAFTU members are EFF voters I don’t know, but how many can the EFF rally?

The other parties aren’t in particular big, but some are known to cause mass instigation. I mean, the Land Party threw Lwandle and Nomzamo into disarray, not to talk about the anarchy in Grabouw and Hermanus. Then those RET inserts, the SA Natives Forum and that Carl thingy, ARETA, I think. All small, but vocal on the webz (and IMs).

I hope that NATJOINTS see them. I expect various 'I-C-U' remarks come Monday.

To date, the EFF haven't published the routes nor locations where their 'rights' will be exercised.

Does anyone know whether SAFTU will strike in its entirety? Their public union members being absent and more inclined to shutting down the nation could cause some disturbances.

At least the taxis and truckers said no, but Monday is still telling. No interdict would mean that some would be more willing to partake.

Vigilance has already been shown where I live, so some EFF allies mag 'n pakslae kry. Those protesting should best have their leaders lead them and take responsibility.
Saftu's leadership might have endorsed the strike but that does not necessarily mean their members are keen, if they even manage to get 3% of their members to the march all over the country that would be very impressive, not like this is a wage protest like the Nehawu strike.

Don't expect the Land Party to grasp the English language that well.

These clowns would struggle to be 20%ers never mind 30.

And the woman behind them that causes all the kak is a drunk white tannie.

This will end badly for the EFF if you ask me...

The Taxi lot are way more ruthless than the EFF could ever hope to be... they get in the way of the taxi's and it will be spectacular

I am generally hoping for it myself, I may even make my way to a vantage point to observe the fireworks from likely points of contestation.

Yes, with a portable braai and cooler filled with beer and ice.

Can be a nice, festive day out.

Thats generally the plan...

Maybe not beer, but a bottle or two of Klippies... just to reinforce the random non-applicable stereotype of course.

I can see it now. EFF, SANTACO and ANC at each others throats, about to kill each other.

Someone will have a brain wave and say "why aren't we fighting with the whites instead?"

Nobody thought of this national shutdown being a pre rehearsed by the ANC and EFF of what is to come if there should be national grid collapse just my thoughts.

C'mon CIC Julie, show these cheeky boy taxi drivers who is boss, trying to operate as normal on your shutdown day!

You give them too much credit...

The ANC can't plan their way out of a paper bag, and the EFF will just try nationalise the paperbag.

Cause roughly 5M whites in South Africa, and roughly 5M registered firearms in South Africa. Coincidence :)

Yes, I know, kids don't count and so on. But still an interesting figure.
