Russo-Ukrainian War - 2022 Edition - Part 8

I think that particular subject doesn't actually belong here and will be too distracting to the topic at hand.
And I know it is a very sensitive subject which can get out of hand in the blink of an eye.

I just can't fathom why people who apparently have a fairly decent education can even hold the idea in their head that Putin is in the right. It really boggles the mind actually.
There can be no excuse for the invasion of Ukraine and the untold suffering this has unleashed on millions of people (in Ukraine, Russia and elsewhere too).

The rationalizations proffered to "justify the invasion" is delusional.

Further, there really are no "winners" in war. Both sides loses - some more than others, but both sides are worse off after a war than before it.

I shudder to think how many inventors or artists or academics who could have taken humanity to new levels were killed in conflicts. Where could humanity have been if we learned to deal with each other without war. (Yes, that must be a PD - but I that section in MyBB, like most, are patrolled by trolls. :p

On the point of war. I also cringe when some people in South Africa thinks that a civil war will allow the nation to be built better than ever. As if it will only get rid of the "bad" actors.
I believe that SA will be completely ruined. The survivors will likely be those who have done despicable things to survive, or refugees in some forsaken camp with a bleak future or .... dead (most likely). But we are now getting totally off-topic.
There was no mythical peace under Zelensky. You get to pick whether the citizens of the Donbass would be blown to smithereens by artillery and guns or whether they would be defended by artillery and guns. Who forced that choice? Well, that's a good question that you should investigate, fully

How many were killed before 2013?

Why don't you ask how many were killed before 1950? Equal relevance.

Nope, you claim the Russians invaded and assisted the separatists in 2014 because "You get to pick whether the citizens of the Donbass would be blown to smithereens by artillery and guns or whether they would be defended by artillery and guns".

So how many people were killed in the period immediately prior to 2014 that would make your statement true?

By late February 2014 (and you are fully aware of that timescale), at least 116 were killed and Estonia's Foreign Minister, Urmas Paet, is on record saying that doctors found the same sniper's bullets in protesters and police.

Really bad snipers?

By 2020, Zelensky still had no idea who caused the massacre.

Unsolved Maidan massacre casts shadow over Ukraine

By March, Crimean citizens had decided that they, along with the Donbass, wanted no part in the Kiev circus and voted for independence. That the West did not want to send observers or recognise this is on them. 95.7% of Crimeans said "yes" to reunification with Russia and voter turnout was over 81.37%. There were 2 civilian deaths (during the protests) and 1 civilian killed.

The goliath 2.0

For those unfamiliar what a goliath looks like:

Will it actually work on the battlefield? That still needs to be determined.

Ok lets try some school boy logic for you. How many times throughout History has a sovereign nation been invaded by a stronger nation, all the men (that believed they could win) being slaughtered and women raped and now no longer exists because they would not negotiate terms. A lot. Obviously what's happening in Ukraine is a tragedy. Ukraine is a democratic sovereign state, but if they don't negotiate they will be destroyed, because the West is not going to save them at the cost of starting WW3.

What's going to happen here is Zelenski will accept that his losses are too heavy and that he's not going to get ground troops support from the West. He will accept the terms China will suggest as an intermediary to broker a peace, or he will go down as an honourable, brave, hero who should have saved some of his country before it was too late.

I am not a schoolboy and I detest those who support the deliberate rape/murder/assault and kidnapping of civilian children men and women, which is what you are doing and deflecting for.

Ukraine has the right to kick russian in the balls out of their country and request help from whoever they wish in whatever form they wish. Russia has no right to do what they have done regardless of history and so called provocation. All they are doing is trying to force their precious ussr back together against the wishes of those people.

The rest of your assertions are just blah blah blah

You can take Rambo/Paulsie/Capd/Buch and others with you and go play in the corner with yourselves. Most of what the named people post is 5% truth, 95% omisions/deflections and lies.

You guys have so many split personalities I actually feel sorry for you
In this thread you guys are all wildly communistic. In others you all hate the ANC. In others you hate corruption and mismanagement. You are what you support. You cant be wildly communistic and wildly democratic.... Pick one ....

I know maths can be really difficult, but fyi 2014 comes after 2013 and if asked what happened prior to 2014, that wouldn't include 2014.

Just so you know...
To be totally honest, his March 2014 comes after Feb 2014 so his position can still be valid ;)
