Things that please you...

For once I entertained a spam call trying to sell me car insurance. After 15 minutes and being transferred twice they could not even get within R100 of my current insurance - add to that they had a hefty excess whereas I have R0

Oh the disappointment and disbelief on the other side was priceless. I wasted their time and it felt good.

I did this once but told them upfront that they would never be able to beat what I currently pay for my car insurance, the sound of disappointment at the end of the call when I told them my car is insured by my employer and I don’t pay any premiums, was deafening…

I did tell the first guy on the call what he needs to beat - but they work in stages. Once the poor sod doing the dial work has a "victim" on the line they pass you one to their "supervisor". She had was not told what that figure to beat was. I guess it's for the better as it made her sound more disappointed.

A sense of calm fell over me, as I am all too familiar with the sound of disappointed women. :sneaky:

My family has been with RSAM for over a century, so it's hard to beat.

Nice nest egg.

But everything's most probably spent now.
So how does SARS recover that money, great that it was granted, but how much will actually be recovered and how will they be negatively affected moving forward?

Got a monitor arm, decent price cleans up desk nicely. Now to actually do the desk and cable sorted. Though I did crimp my finger when putting the arm on the stand. 32" can be awkward

Resizing an ext4 partition, deleting and recreating the linux-swap partition and not losing any data partitions in the process.

Backups were in place, but the lus to have to do a restore should the defecation hit the oscillation was not present.
