Volkswagen working on another "cheap" EV for less than €20,000

Having just unveiled the ID. 2all, an affordable electric vehicle that’s still a couple of years away from production, Volkswagen AG is making plans for an even cheaper EV.

An electric model to sell for less than €20,000 (R393,00), which could be called the ID.1, “should come as early as 2026, 2027,” Volkswagen brand chief Thomas Schaefer told Automobilwoche.

This just sounds like VW asking for attention.
Toyota should announce that they'll have an even cheaper EV by 2028.

By then we will start to see battery less EV's. think we even had those in the 70's and 80's in JHB.

if the cars are not built here, price will definitely will be sky high.
Surprised china not exploiting the gap here in S.A

R200K and I'm in.
Else I don't mind guzzling up petrol.

Electric cars need to drop below R250k before they will get mainstream adoption in SA

That's horribly expensive for an oversized RC car.

And what is your thinking behind this ? VW produces a lot of cars for local and export. Which makes imported FBU probably cheaper than locally manufactured. Look up APDP.
