Scammed by WE BUY CARS

You get all kinds here, which makes it fun imo.
Like someone pointed out earlier, your mistake was, unfortunately, not consulting here before deciding to go with WBC.
Spot on only so much we can do after the fact.

I can tell you now we will go to lengths to help people where we can I have spent countless hours helping people stay away from scams, here unfortunately nothing I can do.

Did you drive the car before buying it? Broken engine mountings and unbalanced wheels should have been fairly obvious?

Have you tried selling it back to them?
Do they allow test drives ? broken mounts will be felt immediately on acceleration .

Sell it to the for the same price you bought it from them?

So Is this forum here to belittle people or to assist people. It seems like there is a lot of "Know it alls but do Nothing""
The people that use to assist other on here left a long time ago, the only people that remain is the ones who chased them away or push their agenda's.

The rest will troll the thread until its left in obscurity.

I am in the Auto industry. Webuycars do make it clear in their terms that they "do not warrant that a vehicle is in a good working order", or that it will be"usable and durable for a reasonable period." If you main point of contention is that the car does not run you will get nowhere.

Knowingly falsifying a Dekra report is fraud... You have a chance with this case with the Ombudsman if you just focus on the misleading Dekra report. But chances are they just don't do proper inspections. They are known for this!

But Dekra is an independant 3rd party comparty contracted by Webuycars to ̶h̶e̶l̶p̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶m̶ ̶s̶c̶a̶m̶ ̶p̶e̶o̶p̶l̶e̶ do damage reports. Legally, this makes this complicated as this means Webuycars are not necessarily responsible, and your problem is actually with Dekra.

As with past cases similar to this, you need to contact Dekra. Preferably with a lawyers letter.

Interestingly - I crossed all of that out in the documentation they sent me - and signed next to it - they accepted it as such. (and everytime they send you documentation - they try and hide further exclusions).

I specifically read - and crossed out everything I didn't agree with - incase I decided the condition was worth going to court over.

Indeed, a 'I am thinking of buying (item) from (vendor), what should I look out for.

Followed by 'Thank you for the good advice'.

Always works out better than 'HELP, ek het kak gekoop, wat nou?' followed by 'Julle is 'n klomp dose wat nie wil help nie'.

I sold them my old jallopy a few months ago. They gave me above book. How I don’t know. I happy took it though.
Is it safe to sell to them? .. Do you get more than what a reputable dealership will offer you in general(my car is almost settled-6 more installments-but would not mind something a bit bigger

I would have had the same smart-ass comments. I have had a good response so far from WBC. I'm waiting on the outcome.

My experience is good. Sold two cars recently due to immigration. Got above book on mine and they settled the amount owing on my wife’s car.

Sold 1 car to them before I knew they were terrible. Got about expected. The next time I tried to sell they under priced it so badly, that I would've lost money on the deal, I went to them long before I needed to sell. Then they started spamming me every months saying that I should let them re-evaluate cause of market conditions. They lowered their offer. Fsckers. Got about 50% more through McCarthy's webuycars thing.

I'm sure the price you paid was not market related and that alone should have send your spidey senses into overdrive.

Oil leak can happen at any time, so can have happened on your or anyone else test drive since inspection report.
Does the wheels and tyres match photographic evidence from dekra report? It could have been swopped out by the in-house mechanic and WBC is oblivious to the swop.

Engine mounts should have been picked up by a test drive, this is obvious as the engine and gearbox will move with every pull away.

Smart move. More people should be doing this.

WBC have so many Ombudsman claims opened against them that never go anywhere. So it's far more profitable for them to just continue with the scams, and see how things play out legally for them. They know this game well. Most of the time their victims eventually just give up and move on.
