eNCA journalist Heidi Giokos asked how Eskom had gone from De Ruyter's dire warning of higher stages of load-shedding a few weeks ago to a steady improvement in its coal fleet — resulting in load-shedding being suspended over the weekend.

“Well, I’m in direct contact,” Ramokgopa answered. “I’m here at the power station. So, I don’t make this statement somewhere in Pretoria.”

He's the one pushing his qualification as if it has any bearing on the role.

Btw MBA guy was useless, this guy is useless, and even if they appoint a PhD in electrical engineering to fix Eskom, he'll also be useless. Because Jamnadas and Gweezy ultimately run the show...

De Ruyter’s detractors frequently pointed out that he has no engineering credentials.

I have a HSc in social engineering. Maybe I should try my hand at sorting ESKOM's problems.

Not sure how he can take credit for anything having been in the job a week and having nothing to do with the running and operations at Eskom. Even the Eskom CEO doesn't get involved at the coal face.
