Electricity minister takes aim at André de Ruyter

eNCA journalist Heidi Giokos asked how Eskom had gone from De Ruyter's dire warning of higher stages of load-shedding a few weeks ago to a steady improvement in its coal fleet — resulting in load-shedding being suspended over the weekend.

“Well, I’m in direct contact,” Ramokgopa answered. “I’m here at the power station. So, I don’t make this statement somewhere in Pretoria.”

So civil engineers understand how power plants work apparently...
If MBA guy was competent, then why not a civil engineer ?

IMO, dig at ADR is completely sub-editor's imagination. It is probably dig at other politicians.
“This is not a typical politician wearing a suit just having a general conversation,” Ramokgopa continued.

“It’s an engineer engaging in a very robust technical discussion with the other competent engineers. So, we’re confident about our ability to improve the performance.”

He's the one pushing his qualification as if it has any bearing on the role.

Btw MBA guy was useless, this guy is useless, and even if they appoint a PhD in electrical engineering to fix Eskom, he'll also be useless. Because Jamnadas and Gweezy ultimately run the show...

Let us see. I don't think either of them are useless and this one will probably try to resolve it in next 3 years.

I can't wait to see what excuses Spootla's fans will make when he fails

I'm guessing they will be singing the same tune as De Generuyter's fans

This cracked me up.
Check this civil engineer having "very robust technical discussion" with electrical engineers.
De Ruyter’s detractors frequently pointed out that he has no engineering credentials.
I have a HSc in social engineering. Maybe I should try my hand at sorting ESKOM's problems.

Exactly, how everything is made about De Ruyter is getting tiring now, the writers of these MyBb articles should get a grip, De Ruyter is gone, we need to move on.

As if there's not enough conflict already, journo's need to drum up some more. Ridiculous.

If you say so. I guess.

Edit: wonder why they not updating this so often anymore?
Is it part of the smoke & mirrors or just not working?

Out of sight, out of mind? Not quite. April still needs those names.
