Trump was invited to testify at the grand jury. Testifying in a case does not make you part of the adversarial process. As a witness: you cannot make a case, you cannot state law, you cannot introduce your own evidence outside of your testimony. You can only answer the questions that are asked of you

For example, Trump's lawyer wouldn't be able to state to the jury as to why the piece of law that they are wanting to apply to Trump isn't correct.

No, you're not understanding what is going on
Everyone, doj etc have all dropped this as it is literally a 'nothing burger' as you folks like to say, hell, he didn't even get fined like hillary or obama, thats how 'nothing' this is....
but there is one tds da who refuses to accept that, he demands that there be a crime and as such is trying to make it one. He can't do anything under the misdemeanor as time has expired, as such, he has to bend and break and fudge the laws to try fit a misdemeanor into a felony crime and charge it. That is what is going on. And given the 'I just wanna see him standing there cos it'll be cool jury' we've seen, odds are he'll get to charge it.... but it will be tossed out, trump gets to play victim, and tds'ers get laughed at

Nope. You're getting ahead of yourself. If the grand jury hand down an indictment and Trump is charged the defense can submit a motion for a dismissal.

Federal law is separate to state law and clearly if there is an indictment blame the grand jury.
