Wireless headphone roundup - March 2023

Best wireless headphones for the office

Offices are notoriously noisy environments, and some layouts can make participating in conference calls, having your say in virtual meetings, and listening to important information challenging.

However, several models of high-quality wireless headphones with robust active noise cancellation (ANC) capabilities are available in South Africa, and they can make these aspects of office work easier.
I don't think Airpots are considered headphones. To my understanding headphones are worn over the head.

Airpods Max are my go-to. iStore pricing is high but not too bad considering an import would still need you to add VAT and DHL etc.

Bought myself some XM5's when I arrived in NZ because of a huge open plan office.
Never had ANC headphones before but this thing is insanely good! Can't wait for my next flight to use these bad boys!

Anyone have a Sennheiser Momentum 4? That's the set that I've been eyeing for a while. Would be keen to hear opinions.

Airpods Max are headphones. Worn over the head. Why on Headsets now?

What am I missing?
The title should have read headsets as the OP specifically stated conference call etc. in the opening of the article. I got the Airpods wrong I admit.

Airpods are earphones, Airpod max headphones. Anyways.... Apple, lol.

Think these headphones have mic built in. The Sony MX does and the Bose i think has as well. Max also has mic if I am not mistaken. (not talking about the mics used for ANC)

You must be jazz.

(Don't give me that I am not the target market nonsense, all the (good) wealthy tech Tubers & reviewers all acknowledge it is a ton of dosh for what you get)

Yeah something is very very wrong here.

Those were right in line with the Sony’s at launch.

Definitely a 40% eBucks off buy…generation two.

I would spend R500 at most on office headphones. Which economy is the writer of this article living in?

I hate wireless need to keep charging them.

Picked up Anker Q30 on special, R1499 at the time (iStore online), which I feel is pretty reasonable for what you get. The battery life is amazing, I charge them once a week and use them as much as I can while at the office. They need a heck of a lot of EQ (but it's built in and applied in the headphones so it's easy to do) to sound good though. ANC is very good for the most part, but struggles with voices, but my understanding is that this is fairly common for ANC. I like that you can pair them to multiple devices, so if you're listening to music via the PC and a call comes in on your phone, it will auto switch to the phone and allow you to answer the call and then switch back to the PC music when you're done.
