Death penalty imposed as Uganda passes law making it a crime to identify as LGBTQ

So African culture is cool with homosexuality?

Historically as far as we can see, African and Asian cultures weren't as barbaric against LGBT people as Abrahamic religions. This is not to say they don't have their own issues.

The issues got worse once Abrahamic religions carried out forced conversions (Islam and Christianity as Jew's don't seek to convert) and spread influence in those regions

What is the Jews stance of the LBGTQ? Im interested in their take perhaps they have the answer to this.

Conservative Judaism is very much against it. Judaism is pretty much the parental religion of Islam and Christianity.

Large amounts of Xian and Muhammed's ideology was copied from Judaism.

I'd be interested to find out what attitudes in Africa were to homosexuality pre Islamic/Christian invasion/forced conversions etc.

I doubt a utopia but it may well have been more accepting as even Shaka Zulu himself may have been gay.
Being gay as it is understood today, men exclusively dating and forming relationships with other men was not really a thing throughout history.

Even in cultures where it was more tolerated men would still do their duty, marry a woman have kids and keep a younger boy as a plaything on the side or a male friend with benefits.

Shaka was a mommy's boy, don't know how that suggest he is automatically gay. Plenty of straight men are mommy's boys.

Yeah that's BS.... blacks have been killing gays long before they even knew the Abrahamic religions existed.

Source?

As I mentioned before, Shaka Zulu may well have been gay.

I don't doubt that the majority of African leaders today are homophobes but most of them do practice either Xianity or Muhammed's religion and intertwine it with their cultural beliefs.

You don't supply sources for a controversial statement, but expect other to supply a source for saying something that is common knowledge? Lol

It will be contested for a long time and is a sensitive issue to a lot of Zulu's but I'd say there is a high chance he was gay as was the case with Cecil John Rhodes.

Rhodes apparently was "not interested in women" and Zulu's sometimes use the same reasoning for Shaka when questioned on this issue.

For men of that time and with their power, it was very unusual for them to not have kids or wives.

LOL!

Poor Uganda. They have been indoctrinated by the evil middle eastern and white people into thinking this way.

Mental gymnastics at its finest.

Can't find anything using any search engine that is not religiously pro-gay (i.e. using of propaganda terms like LGBT and homophobia). So I can't point you to anything sorry.

It's a global cultural standard of history however with a few exceptions (usually late stage civilizations) that gays were killed.

Shaka's world revolved around his mother. He practically lost the will to live when she died. He went nuts.

Okay.

Sex exclusively with other men = gay
Not taking a wife, having children or anything else != gay

Woke historical revisionism is the worst.

If you want to claim he was gay you need to show at a minimum that he had a boyfriend or husband that he bummed.

That might just mean they were a-sexual or obsessed with their ambitions.

This is the case with Abrahamic religions and they were mostly the victors in conquests and so will tell the story from their perspective.

I don't doubt that other cultures carried out savagery against the LGBT community but my point is that it is much more complex than meets the eye.

No.... everyone did it even those to which these religions did not spread.

It was not a religious law to kill gays but a natural one.

Christianity isin't a "white people" religion so not sure what you are on about.

The christian missionaries where mostly Europeans or from the usa. It’s just your little tactic to shift blame while at the same time disregarding the foundations of islamic beliefs started in ancient times where northern africa was a big player in those cultures.

In Shaka's case it probably just meant he couldn't find a woman good enough that his mother would approve to marry maybe he had 100 children outside of marriage.

Nobody knows.
