Hi,
I see Induction Cookers are not very expensive at the moment....R699 at makro and R699 at checkers....
The one at checkers is rated 2000w but can go as low as 500.....will my inverter be able to handle me making...lets say an omelet or something ?
Would make a good option for load shedding ....also my oven top doesn't work 100% so bonus!

500w with 24v batteries is around 20a... cooking at 20a for 30min will use up quite a bit of your battery. Probably better to go with gas?
I have a 9kg (R340) container and that lasts me 1-2 months of cooking.

Maybe 1000 for 15 minutes? Don't really wanna use gas

That's not really how cooking works across the board.. increase heat (power) and you end up with burnt/cooked outside and raw inside..

It's not all about the inverter, sure the inverter can handle anything that's rated below it's power rating but you will also need the batteries to handle the load. You don't specify what system you have.

i mean with a 3kva inverter you can definitely use induction cooking as long as you have the battery capacity for it.
You can literally power whatever you like as long as it fits the max output of inverter and you have the battery power to do so

I put the oven on the inverter
And my wife finished the sourdough breads on the inverter this morning

Choice was get up early to fit in before shedding

Or finnish the last 30min from battery

What batteries do you have?

Entire month’s cooking on my induction top is 10-12kWh.

Same here. Cooking dinner on 2 plates uses 1100w ish... Even got a Pressure cooker that works on Induction. Works like a charm.
