Yeah sure

Russia says it shot down a US-supplied GLSDB bomb

Russia says it has shot down a United States-supplied ground-launched small-diameter bomb (GLSDB) fired by Ukrainian forces, the RIA Novosti news agency reported.
“Air defense systems intercepted 18 HIMARS multiple rocket launchers and one GLSDB guided missile in a day,” a defence ministry summary said.
The Russian statement said air defence forces had shot down the GLSDB within the last 24 hours, without saying where this had occurred.
The Ground-launched Small Diameter Bomb is fired on a rocket, then it glides to its target, guided by a GPS satellite, at 150km (93km) range, around double that of the US-supplied high mobility artillery rocket systems (HIMARS) that Kyiv deployed last year.

Ukraine war response highlights ‘double standard’: Amnesty

Amnesty International’s annual report highlighted the West’s “double standards” towards human rights abuses in the context of the Ukraine war.
“The West’s formidable response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine underscored double standards, exposing in comparison how inconsequential their reactions have been to so many other violations of the UN Charter,” said Amnesty Secretary-General Agnes Callamard as she presented the group’s world report in Paris.
The report found that as Western countries quickly bound together to impose sanctions on Moscow, the same approach was missing from previous violations by Russia and others to current “pitiful” responses to conflicts in Ethiopia and Myanmar.
Callamard told Al Jazeera from Paris on Monday, “In 2022, we had the fantastic example of how the world came to support and show solidarity with the Ukrainian people. But we did not have a similar kind of support and solidarity for the Palestinian people, the people of Ethiopia, Myanmar, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.”

Gonna be interesting to see these relics in action in Ukraine in all honesty.

Yeah it's a morbid fascination from my side as well...

Though I think the Bradley's will have a field day.

But your picture is quite astounding in terms of the progression of mbts really. The challenger is likely to shake of anything the relics can throw at it.

Deep fried by the Russian propaganda.
It is literally an insane argument:

1) In 2014 conflict begins in Donbas region. The vast majority of civilian deaths occur in this year and slow down to a trickle in years 2015-2022. More people probably die of car accidents in the region per year.
......
2) In 2022 Russia invades Ukraine because 8 years ago people died

Does not compute. Only a complete and utter smoothbrained idiot would believe such a narrative. If it were in good faith then Russia should have invaded in 2014 to put a stop to it. They didn't. Why not? Because they started it in the first place and they kept the conflict going with the aim to destabalize Ukraine to prime them for invasion later (later being now).

I'll say it again for the record:
The goal of this war for Russia is twofold:
1) Territorial and resource conquest and theft
1a) Destroy the civilian population of Ukraine so you don't have to distribute any of the gained resources to them
2) Satisfy the vanity of Putin

Simple as that. Everything else is lies.

Yup.

I wanna say the vatniks won't be stupid enough to get involved in a tank battle, but this last year has shown that statements like that age poorly.

Those T-55s are vulnerable to any 'ol RPG and they're certainly not ready for a Bradley, Javelin or drone fight.

Honestly, I'd rather take my chances on the ground than in that coffin.

Agreed.. I'd leave that shyte on the battle field and leg it.. It would be safer.

Put it this way, it's going to take a lot to kill a Challenger 2.

During the 2003 invasion of Iraq, the Challenger 2 tanks suffered no tank losses to Iraqi fire. In one encounter within an urban area, a Challenger 2 came under attack from irregular forces with machine guns and rocket propelled grenades (RPGs). The driver's sight was damaged and while attempting to back away under the commander's directions, the other sights were damaged and the tank threw its tracks entering a ditch.

It was hit by 14 RPG-7s from close range and a MILAN anti-tank guided missile.[56] The crew survived, safe within the tank until it was recovered for repairs, the worst damage being to the sighting system. It was back in operation six hours later.

According to the British army, one Challenger 2 operating near Basra survived being hit by 70 RPGs in another incident.[57]

The Russians have better ATGMs, such as the Kornet.

During the Iraq War, Kornets were used by some groups of Iraqi special forces to attack U.S. armored vehicles, disabling at least two Abrams tanks and one Bradley infantry fighting vehicle in the opening week of the war.[31][32]

The second verified episode of the Kornet ATGM in combat use occurred during the 2006 Lebanon War, where the missiles, reportedly supplied by Syria which were reverse-engineered Kornets produced in North Korea,[33] were used by Hezbollah fighters to destroy up to four Israeli Merkava tanks.[34] Kornets pierced the armor of 24 tanks in total.[35][36]

We've heard the same story here on MyBB over and over again.

Dave, we'll see how good the Western equipment is. The problem with it is that it's of relatively low number. Europe doesn't have the armour to give to Ukraine. America for example has 3-4,000 Abrams in the desert in addition to their 2-3,000 they use.

Better a double standard than NO standard as Russia has. Perfection is hard to achieve.

Yeah 14 tanks is nothing. Russia loses that many tanks in a day.
